It's not a hard and fast rule.  You'll probably be OK with just two prior qualifying years, if you are making far over the required minimum.

Is there a question associated with the above?

Sorry, that wasn't a question.. I basically just went back to the instructions to see if it had anything specific about 3 years of qualifying income!

Mumbai is not London, but current income plus two years qualifying will probably work for a young person.  It's a judgment call.  Mumbai looks at things differently that most other IV units.

As for this, I guess I will add all my paystubs from 2020 as well.. my income has come from the same company since Dec 2017 so hopefully it will work. Thanks for the input!

I mentioned a general policy for the Immigrant Visa Unit in Mumbai.  They have their own policy.

One most current pay stub will be sufficient, if it shows year to date income.  Take your gross pay for a pay period and multiply by the number of pay periods in a full year going forward.  That is your current income.

You'd be fine for those since your current income is $80k+

I had to show my income for 2015 and 2016 when I was a student and made under $12k. But my income for 2017 was $45k+ so it didn't matter.

Mumbai is very strict when it comes to the I-864 and public charge determination. London is known to be quite lax on it (Edit: especially for the I-134 - they just look for 1 piece of good evidence of income, and allow self-sponsorship). Mumbai generally wants to see 3 years of satisfactory returns. Night and day circumstances.

But I agree with @pushbrk - 2 years + a good current income is probably fine. Judgement call, as always.
