No i-94?

Hey all,

I'm filing an AOS on behalf of my wife, who crossed into the US from Canada a few months ago. She did not receive an i-94 at the time of crossing and when I put her info into the CBP/DHS database it doesn't pull up any records. Is this normal for Canadians? Whaat do with the part of the i-485 that asks for the I-94?

Many Canadians do not get and I-94. Some on here will tell you to go to the nearest airport or border and get one. It is not needed Uscis is well aware that it is not always given to Canadians and you simple mark that your wife crossed as a Canadian visitor by land, you can put the border she crossed at. You might be able to find her entry recorded even without the I94 and you can print it out for them.

What do you mean by "go to the nearest border and get one"? Do you have to cross back over or just ask for it on the US side?

 

And what do you mean by "You might be able to find her entry recorded even without the I94 and you can print it out for them"? How would. find that if not on the CBP I-94 database?

Do not leave the US. So Airports are sometimes a better option. But any border can do it. it's just not needed. 

i'm not familiar with the data base but I know other members where able to see their trip recorded even if they weren't issued an I94
