Its a huge website. If you are going to be passive aggressive, please don't respond. As we all know, this process is overwhelming and frustrating.

I don't believe it was intended to be passive or aggressive, as they answered your original question with a dash of humor.

I would take your time to familiarize yourself with all of the parts of visajourney as it has a wealth of resources that will come in handy during all parts of the process.

Next steps when he lands will be:

  1. Get Married within 90 days.
  2. Apply for Adjustment Of Status (AOS, aka "Green Card") using the i-485 form
  3. Wait. You as the US Citizen are free to leave but your fiance cannot unless he possesses an Advanced Parole Document

Does anyone have a website for the exact steps after my fiance lands in Chicago?

I totally read this the wrong way and thought: she's already planning on leaving him before he even does AOS?  Reading is fundamental!!!

You got this, by the way -- my ex came over on a K1 and we did the whole AOS process ourselves. We had had a bit of a bumpy ride during the K1 because, um, reading is fundamental and I missed some things on the petition. By the time we got to AOS, we were old hands and it was fairly straightforward because I took my time. I'm going to go through AOS again with my fiance later this year (over here on a L1B visa) and I know the drill: Take your time, read everything, and read it again, and again. Dot all the Is and cross all the Ts. Ask questions here! I wasn't a member when I did AOS last time but I read and read everything I could find here. And hey, if you already did a K1, you know how to fill out a form properly, which is half the battle.
