How much i need to make to support my wife and my child who is 8 months old.

 

Attached picture is how much i made in my income for the last 3 year in my affidavit of support.

For a household size of 3 it seems you’ve made about $1k over the minimum. But it’s about your current annual income the most, not only about the last 3 tax years. Keep in mind this number is just a minimum and the final call is still up to the CO at the interview of whether or not they feel your income is sufficient after reviewing all circumstances

You are barely above the minimum. You probably want to get a joint sponsor or other evidence of good financial health.

 

Think of it as this way: If you are travelling for vacation and research said that you dont need more then $1000 for a 3 day vacation, are you going to carry #1010 or $1500 or more just to be safe ?

 

A lot of factors play into this, if you are from a high CoL (NY, SF, LA) thats not enough at all, it is barely even enough for a low CoL city IMO, the insurance alone from your employer for your family could end up eating the extra 1000 that you are above the minimum income requirement,

Yeah, it barely above minimum, but the CO will get a final call. If your current income is way above and a good background( stable job, college degree), you will be ok.
