From what I've read elsewhere, I can take my conditional greencard and my 10 year greencard to my n-400 interview and show them the correct date on the conditional.

I rather not wait 6-12 months for another greencard

That's how I was able to convince the officer but she made a big deal out of it. And she took my conditional green card away.

Great, so then the date you would have entered the US at the POE would have been your "Resident Since..." date. For instance, I entered the US on 8/6/16 so my Resident Since date is that and I filed my ROC 90 days prior to that date.

When filing for N400, you should file within 90 days of your 3-year residency date. So if you entered the US on 4/2/2017, then you can safely file for N400 on Monday 6th January, 2020...given that your date is correct on your 10-yr green card. If the date on your green card is 4/20/2017, then 90 days before then would be to safely file on Friday 24th January, 2020.

Also, check if you are able to file N400 online. This way, you have your application inside and it is saved for you up to 30 days.

That does not make sense as I enter the USA May 11 2016 on a J1 and then AOS from that November 11th 2016 and got approved April 20th 2017th  So that resident since on my new greencard is wrong and will be going off the old one.

Yup thanks for that information, I'm aware of the 90 days to my previous post on this forum.

Not necessarily.  Depends on how they entered. I came on a K1 so my US entry date is not my US resident date.  I couldn’t determine from the timeline what visa they originally used:  if a CR1, your above statement is correct, if a K1 or VWP, they need to check the approval from the i485.

Earliest Accepted Filing Date: 01/21/2020. I sure would wait until after that. Your residency date is the date you arrived. So if it's 4/20/2017 then wait till the 21st to be safe.

From everything i have been told and have read, your time counts from when you get your 2 year green card. From that date it is 3 years to applying. When you arrive in the USA you are still not a resident, until USCIS says so. The 2 year card confirms that.

Unless they entered on a CR1.

I understand that. I was answering to the question from the couple who are a part of the K1 VISA process.

Then that makes sense why your dates may be mixed up. I was under the assumption that you were removing conditions based on 2yr conditional residency from CR-1 visa because I went based on information from your timeline. Seems like your timeline needs to have some gaps filled 🤷‍♀️
