Yeah so if they are retired you might find you are asked to show for example that you have funds to cover their health insurance etc, we have seen some threads like that. Have you looked into what the cost of insurance will be for them, it’s an important consideration anyway.

Not yet, do i Need to make a letter for insurance or apply them now? I have insurance at my work that I can get them covered

They’re retired and have been going back and forth here in the US and prior that US visa they travelled 2-3 countries which the USCIS gave them B1 visa. Now, they wanting to stay bcuz of grandkids. The assets they have back home owned a house but after they left Philippines its for rental place now.

So they came with no intention of returning to the Philippines? They have already rented out the family home?

Are you sure, it would be very unusual for a work insurance to cover Parents, I think I have seen it happen twice in all the years I have been on here.

All good things to check first. I know my Parents could not have afforded to move here and they were comfortably off.

It’s the second thread in as many days where the OP claimed that they could cover parents through their employee insurance. I wish we had the names of these insurance providers. Certainly sounds like a great arrangement.

Well the real issue is the cost, I think in these situations there may be an assumption that the Employer will be paying for a chunk of it.

I am technically a state’s employee and my benefits are top-notched excellent. I mean, $0 premium for a single person and very minimal for a family of 4 for health insurance, 200% match 401k for the first 5% of salary ( I put in 5% and they put in 10% for a total of 15%). But I gotta say, I’ve never seen an employer’s plan offers to pay for parents

Not intentionally after we’ve done some research if they allowed to stay and adjust status, the property they owned let them rent including the stuff inside the house.

That’s nice benefits you have. I wasn’t sure about insurance from work but I definitely look for them as they need it anyways

Would that insurance  be included in filing AOS?

Not normally, usually you need the NoA to qualify to buy Insurance.

You need to check at what point their Travel Insurance will cease taking into account this changed situation.

Compelling reasons to return obviously shifted at some point.
