You and/or your wife will either need to show assests of three times the difference (so roughly $10,000 USD) or you will need a co-sponsor residing in the US who makes more than the required amount for their household (including you).

thanks john and marlene and for everyone...just to make it clear my wife s anual income for 2006 is 13.900.00

2005 is 13.500.00

2004is 13.000.00

so is that really not enough?

THANKS

[

Size of Family Unit 125% of Poverty Line 2 $17,112

As you can see above, taken from John's post she needs to have made 17,112 for the year.......so no 13k is not enough.

It really is not enough to satisfy the I-864 support requirement. The minimum required for a household size of 2 is $17,112 -- more if the USC is in Alaska or Hawaii.

hello john_and_marlene

thanks for being patient with me just what i know is that the income of 2007 is yet given to my wife

the recent one she has is of 2006 what do u think ?

THANKS

She has to provide evidence that her income meets the 2007 requirements. Other types of evidence may include a letter from her current employer showing current salary. Current income is more important than past income. If she can show that her current income meets the requirement, then that will suffice. If her current income still does not meet the requirement, you will need another sponsor.

If she is working a full-time job (40 hours/week) that amounts to well over $20,000/year. Is this a new job/wage than she had in past years? Is she working full-time?

If she is working full-time at that wage, she needs to ask her employer for a letter stating that she is a full-time employee and her wage.

She needs to be able to show that her income meets the minimum requirement. It is a minimum ... if she comes close, but still falls short of the minimum it does not work.

First there is no fudging in the numbers. The "current income" stated and documented must be a minimum of the $17,113. Almost will not do it.

However, if your wife earns $10.50 an hour and can get a letter from her employer stating that she works full time, she can state her current income as an annualization of her hourly pay. $10.50 times 2080 hours (40X52) is $21,840 as her stated current income. If her work is not full time, then change the 40 to the number of hours she does work and recalculate. If it is enough, then it is enough. If not, you need a joint sponsor or she needs a second job.

She'll need to document the income with the employer letter and recent pay stubs indicating the hourly rate and number of hours.

13,690 is the poverty line. For the I-864 your income must be 125% of the poverty line $17,113.

13,900 is less than 17,113

It is not enough
