A couple of Aussies have shown me theirs that were approved, they’re identical to mine.. I submitted front and back.. uploading / format etc wasn’t the issue.. they’re saying it’s literally the wrong one.. 🤷‍♀️

I called AFP, they say it’s the correct one and I checked US consulate site, still correct..

I went the local police yesterday, got my fingerprints taken and have now ordered all available types of AFP certificates (3, inc biometrics) and have decided to upload all three types in a couple of weeks once I receive them so they can bloody well pick which one they want..

it’s really annoying, I’ve never had so much as a speeding fine, to have to keep doing this, when they are clearly correct and show no records of history and knowing they’ll do biometrics as part of the process is a bloody joke!

if they decline them again, I’ll likely go insane... this will be 5 Fed Police Certificates saying nil history given to them since applying in 2018... hate this process! No wonder people are pushed to the point of breaking the rules and jumping boarders...  it will be June now by the time I upload, they review and I get my interview.... 😭

That's bizarre and I'm so sorry you're having to deal with such nonsense. Have you considered involving your spouse's senator? I'm not sure if they have any power with the NVC but if they're rejecting a perfectly fine document then maybe it's worth a shot. Keeping my fingers crossed that your next submission will be one of those that is accepted in a matter of days and you get DQ soon!

Mods - the NVC Guide and Information link, would that contain the latest update on the NVC process or has it not been updated?

I just got a text saying my i-130 case was sent to the Department of State for Visa Processing. Might be a dumb question, but I'm assuming that is NVC

It also says to go to uscis.gov and it will provide info on what to do next, who to contact.

Isn't the next step to call NVC in about 2 weeks to get a case #?

NVC update processing times each Monday on their website .

yes department of state is NVC 🙂

call NVC within 2 weeks to be sure they received  your petition . Then from the date they received you have to count about a month before receiving case number and Invoice number

Hey Caresse33,

From what I have heard it is a common reason for RFE. I am using an app (both on my phone and computer) called PDF Expert and it works perfect. (https://pdfexpert.com/ but maybe it works only on Mac).

Find a way to rotate your document and re-upload. Let us know how it goes.

Just wanted to know if someone can help me with this question please?

I didn't use a joint sponsor, but if there was a question about the join sponsor's financials, it makes sense to provide documentation to support it. I would say, if theyre available, provide both Tax Transcript and W2 just in case (I sent in my tax 1040 form and W2).

I hope this helps

Hello everyone, silly question here but can someone please tell me if the passport copy should be in portrait or landscape format? I was gonna upload however it should be read but i want to make sure because someone mentioned landscape could get an RFE so i want to be safe.

Thanks in advance!

Upload it how it is read. So landscape. (unless your passport bio page is portrait, then portrait).

You have to upload in a way to make it as EASY as possible for the agent who will be reviewing, theyre not going to take time to rotate, brighten, or enlarge any uploads.

Hello Nnmm193,

It has to be vertical (not landscape), so that the agents don't have to tilt their heads or turn the document to check if okay.

Since they go through thousands and thousands of documents, it is one of the many reasons people get RFE.

:)
