"Current case review time: As of 21-JAN-2020, we are reviewing documents submitted to us on 20-NOV-2019."

No momentum. It was 6 weeks wait when I uploaded mine.

The effects of the holidays are obvious when looking at the performance between Dec 16 and Jan 6.

The week from Jan 6 to Jan 13 looks the best.

Last week was close to NVC's best performance during the last 30 days. However, I expect poorer performance numbers next week because of the holiday this week.

At least the holiday was in the beginning of the week which means NVC employees will get the opportunity to build some momentum.

It would be nice if NVC published a chart or something to show how many un reviewed cases they have in their pool at any given moment. Of course they would put days or week on the x-axis not year and month.

NVC ain't transparent though. It's anything but transparent.

Something like this: Image result for histogram by date

I do not think they have time to do anything. The slowest people on entire universe. They do not care.

Hello Everyone,

We have received our case number last night (yayyy! 😉

We are about to pay the fees BUT we noticed they have misspelled my spouse's middle name (he is the petitioner).

Does anyone has encounter a bug like this? How long will it delay our process? Do we need to call to have someone correct it?

Thank you very much,

Alix

First of all: congratulations! GREAT NEWS!

I am no expert, but I would call before to try to have them fix it before paying the fee. I would worry that paying the fee and then correcting it might - for some unexplained reason - be more burdensome for them and therefore take longer to remedy. Take a deep breath, call later tonight - close to their closing time for a higher chance of getting someone to pick up.

Good luck! Keep us posted!

First of all, congrats! :D

I'm probably not the best person to give you advice on this, but I really suggest you call ASAP and have that sorted out. Left unchecked, you'll probably get documents returned to you because of the spelling discrepancy (and wasted time :( ). Maybe some other kind VJ'er can share how to get in touch with a supervisor who can make quick changes to the case?

Don't bother with e-mail, they take a very long time to respond to those. I wanted to ask them if I had to secure a police certificate for a country I worked in, but that was only for 10 months and supposedly one would only need certificates for countries one has lived in for a year or more. That was because the police certificate of that country was one of the required documents listed in my case. The wait was so long that in the time frame between the e-mail I sent and their reply, I had already gone to said country and secured the certificate and already had the case for review when they did reply. 😂

To add on to the advice from others: You might want to email them (AskNVC) as well.

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/ask-nvc.html

I've been trying to get my problem fixed and they just keep saying to email them the information. This is despite including the information in the original application and in an earlier I sent them. NVC just says to email again because there's nothing they can do unless the information comes in an email.

I'm not sure I believe them but whatever...  :bonk:
