its Kind of like comparing apples with oranges... numbers are very easy to manipulate into a way that sounds favourable toward your desirable point..

it’s ok saying approval numbers for legal immigration has reduced... but to actually make the point valid in saying he’s trying to reduce legal migration you need to also review:

- number of applications... has this number reduced also?

- reasons behind denials.. if applicants don’t meet the requirements then of course they will not be approved

- resources available to process applications... reallocation of processing staff from legal to illegal migration and asylum seeker processing will indeed slow legal migration..

i wouldnt neccesarily trust numbers.. got to do the background check too

The table below is from a government website. The climb in processing times is not hard to see. So far the supreme leader hasn't done anything to improve things for US citizen's trying to bring over their spouse and kids over to the US. Things have gotten worse if anything. You can spin this anyway you want. However, it doesn't change the fact that he has made things extremely painful for US citizens trying to bring over their immediate family members.

As far as reallocation of resources goes, I don't think the money we pay into the system, for our cases to be processed, should be redirected to ICE. This is something which should be payed for via taxes as it benefits all US citizens.

Can you redirect me to a resource which shows the current administration's efforts to improve things for US citizens trying to reunite with their immediate relatives?

Honestly, I don’t think he’s changed a whole lot of rules at all, he’s just enforcing the requirements of things that have been in place for a very long time.. things that probably should have been enforced a long time ago to prevent or reduce the massive influxes of undesirables..

with ref to asylum seekers, USCIS still process applications, the asylum applications are free to submit.. USCIS is predominately funded by fee paying applicants not the gov or tax payers.. so yes the massive influx slows our processing because more resources aren’t being provided without a significant increase in visa costs.. secondly, many feel that asylum processing should be faster due to dangers and separation of kids etc again slowing fee payers cases.

Results are what matter. Whatever he has done has slowed down the immigration apparatus with the end result being US citizen's like me and you being inconvenienced. The enforcement of rules does not bother me. However, when the enforcement results in a drastic slowdown it definitely bothers me. Adding work to the plate of these agencies without increasing funding to them makes no sense unless the goal is to reduce immigration by slowing everything down.

The asylum seekers aren't US citizen's or their relatives. Services provided to them should not adversely affect US citizens and their relatives. I'm sure personnel could be directed to focus on cases of immediate relatives. However, that is not what is happening right now.

Guys, I have a question if anyone can help me. My first submission was in November and I sent everything I had in hand already aware that I would not receive DQ since my husband did not have W2 and the 2019 tax yet. Therefore, I received the orientation to send another joint sponsor form. However, last week we resubmitted the documents with the W2 and 2019 income tax return.

Can anyone tell me if it is possible that I no longer need a joint sponsor at this point?

Has anyone ever heard of this type of NVC action?

Hello everyone!  Finally, NVC emailed me my husband's case # and invoice ID # after approval by USCIS by three months!  I'm so excited and happy to start the NVC process. I paid Affidavit of Support as well as IV application fees.  The "Start Now" button for Affidavit is blue, as opposed to the IV "Start Now" button, but its not clickable.  Is this normal?  What should I do?  Also, is the IV application the DS 261 or the choose an agent?  Because I didn't see either of those.  Thanks so much for all your help!

it's my understanding there is no more "DS261 choose an agent", they just use contact details from I-130
