I honestly don’t know why I even bother to call NVC. Our case was approved for expedite due to our situation after Hurricane Dorian and the guy at NVC said that qualification of documents takes the same length of time as people with a non-expedited case. While that’s fine and all, I asked him why is it that some cases are documentarily qualified within a few days or few weeks, like I’ve seen with some users here (which I’m happy for you all). He told me “That doesn’t happen” and that he “can not confirm that”. Also went on to proudly tell me that the clock is set back to zero if a document has to be resubmitted or added for any reason. I knew that but I just wanted to understand what sense that made. He went silent. He did not seem to care. All in all, I just came to vent because coming from Nebraska Service Center and then having to deal with this BS is exhausting.

How do we reduce the size to the (2 mb) document requirement  being submitted??

We used this website

but if it is a scanned document and after you compress the pdf it’s still over 2mb then you need to scan at a lower resolution

when did you submit your documents? :)

The original submission was on November 28, then last week I got a message from NVC that I needed to submit all W-2s for the tax returns of my joint sponsor (the rest of the docs got accepted). Had to wait a couple of days for my joint sponsor to get home from his vacation so I only got the documents last night, which I then submitted to NVC ASAP. I'm probably looking at another long wait for those additional docs to be verified. 😂

Does anyone know if I (the petitioner) can fill out DS-260 and sign it (sign with my name) for my wife?

Yes. I the spouse filled the form for my wife. It had a question in the end asking if someone helped the beneficiary fill the form.

I asked her for information I didn't know and made sure to review the form with her before submitting it.

The screenshot below is from the printout of the DS-260 I filled for my wife.

I used the following question for reference when deciding what to do.

17 months for us too ... at least you will skip ROC :D

Mine will be 23 months on 15th Jan, it looks like we(i and wife) will get OCD because of this mess. Upgraded my case to CR1 on April 2019. Submitted docs to NVC on Dec 4. They are slow as hell.

I used MS word to combine all scans into a single pdf. Then used LibreOffice Draw to compress the pdf file.

Here is a tutorial on how to use Libre Draw to compress pdf docs if none of the other alternatives work for you.

Libre Office is free and open-source (no malware or adware that I know of).

23 months 😱 so sorry to hear that ..what is OCD?
2 submission dec 2 for us . Yes slow as hell and it’s getting worst when we see that since last week they barely worked ..

today we had to call them 3 times because the two first time the phone cut on their side 🧐🤔

and as usual they give random answers and the usual “ there is no time frame “

the agent we had on phone ( 1st call) agreed that they slowed down recently .
We even talk to a tier 2 but same s*** .

we feel completely powerless honestly ...

I don’t know what to think or expect right now
