This is not good at all. So does it mean no point expecting IL until the ban is lifted? I mean we already submitted and paid for these visas. We already complied with all requirements including police report from nigeria. My husband even got police report from uk as well. Why target families especially but allow visitors' visas. It makes no sense to me at all. This is really bad. Hopefully it doesn't last for too long.

My immigration laywer is looking into this. He said "typically" people who are in the last stages either waiting for interview or have interview it will not affect. It usually affects those who are just now going to start to apply...so the first step of NOA1...HOWEVER he is looking into it more for me this weekend and will let me know Monday. He said if the ban is not in affect until February 22nd if your interview is before then and you are aproved (Nigeria) then it will not affect us...he said there is usually waivers that can be applied for spouse he has used such waivers for other couples from the original banned countries and they worked just fine.

PRAYING FOR ALL THE FAMILIES that will be affected by this....I am saddened by this. Our interview is the 10th thank God. But still very uncertain times for us.

It MAKES ABSOLUTLY NO SENSE!! I honestly want to be so mad and upset. It feels a direct way to just keep foreign people out. Doesnt matter if you do it legally or not 😡

I am sure it wont affect those interviewing before feb 21. I dont know what it means for those of us awaiting IL.

I am so dumbfounded and sad here, I thought even if they are going to put a restriction on visas, it shouldn't be immigrant visas at all.

Honestly i don't know what to say. It's just heartbreaking. I wonder if they considered the impact this would have on their own citizens, affected children and families in general. My husband is so worried though he's not saying much about it. We were all expecting to get IL for him in the next batch. Even if we get IL now, we dont even know what would come out of it. I just pray something is done about this.

I mean I can understand. But I Never sent him money till after we were married and it was small amounts. When I'm there he buys me gifts and takes care of everything...But I can understand how someone could look at it that way. I'm just not going to take money from my husband for me when it's not worth anything here. It doesnt make logical sense.

Trust me I understand. But not everyone will see a wife supporting her husband. They may think all kinds of nefarious things. Even when the man sends money they might thing it's money scam, western union scam. I know a few women who got caught up in that BS. Picking up money the husband told them to pick up and sending it.

Question #1 what happens to all pending family applications?

answer no visa. no entry, they will not issue a visa.

The Proclamation applies to intending immigrants abroad who have not yet received an immigrant visa. Intending immigrants abroad who have a valid visa, but have not yet entered the United States, may still do so—so long as they meet all other conditions of admissibility under the Immigration and Nationality Act.
