Why is that? My laywer said any proof of money being exchanged is good proof.  The way the currency is in Nigeria it's pointless for him to send me money. The exchange rate is horrible and he could send me two months worth of his salary(he works at the university of Nsukka as lab professor) and it wouldn't even pay all my rent lol. I told him not to.

because they could think he using you for money. maybe it could be good proof in other countries but not Nigeria, especially since it's you the woman sending money to the man. Usually it's the man sending money to the woman

Smh perpetuating stereotypes. How can he use me if he is my husband? Smh. I understand the logic. Just think it's silly for people to always label Nigeria this way. It makes me sad. But I understand

yes sadly, it's strange to me too that we have to prove our relationship is real, but it's because other people do get married just for benefits

Exactly,

It feels very off to have to prove my intimate relationship to a stranger. To just know that the future of our marriage is in the hands of someone else. I guess that's what makes me nerveous. It's out of our control. Lol. But ultimately God is in control and we are confident in Him. I'm an overthinker. So I just need to relax and trust in God and our love. They will see us through 💓💓

That's true! I'm nervous about my interview soon, but like you say, God is in control! So I'm sure all will go well for us! :)

For someone in UK, Europe not coming from a 3rd world country and definitely not a woman sending money to a man.

It goes like this what was he doing before he meet you. That is never helpful because in the eyes of the Co it may look like you are being romance scammed out of money.

My husband has his interview for Mumbai on February 11th. It took 91 days to receive an interview letter. They only gave us 18 days notice! So it was a whirlwind to get everything done! Finally getting to the end of this draining process.

I mean I can understand. But I Never sent him money till after we were married and it was small amounts. When I'm there he buys me gifts and takes care of everything...But I can understand how someone could look at it that way. I'm just not going to take money from my husband for me when it's not worth anything here. It doesnt make logical sense.

Guys, has anyone been asked at a visa interview to show old chats?

The only conversations me and my husband has had are calls and chats over WhatsApp, do I really have to take a print of those or is jus photos and wedding album enough?

take everything and anything. It depends on the embassy and since you didn't complete your profile it is hard to advise.

But I'll just take out the western union slips and keep them with me just in case I guess. I hate how people are judged on things simply because they are from other countries. Married couples share money all the time. Sometimes one spouse makes less than the other and more financially is on one than the other, or they are investing in businesses together so money is pulled from both accounts. It's silly that its looked at as "wrong" for a woman to occasionally send money to her husband! Lol I mean what do they think will happen when male spouses from 3rd world enter the US? the wife will have to take care of and pay for things until He starts working if he doesnt have a job lined up. Thankfully my husband does.
