I have a rather small question: for Nigeria folks, how long did it take your account to go from “at NVC” to “in transit” then to the consulate? We got our IL last week and it still says at NVC

I also assume this is why any time we try to put our case number into the profile we had to make “per email” it gives an error message about the case number not being found.

Currently experiencing the same thing although my consulate is not Nigeria. Got IL last Thursday and I’m in the same boat. Thinking to give it a few days for them to enter it in their system perhaps🤷🏽‍♀️

Ok so if its before two year that is not a legal permanent residence? What will that status be called then?

Incorrect. There is no difference between a 2  year and 10 year green card. They both are a legal Permanent resident with same rights and privileges given them. a 2 year is a CR (Conditional Resident), a 10 year is a IR (Immediate Resident)The ONLY difference is a 2 year green card hold must Remove conditions to get a 10 year green card.

His status is a LPR.

Hello Everyone and a Happy New Year!

Been a while since we came back here as we were busy preparing for our big move.

Being a first time flyer, my partner decided to come get me to cushion the stress of traveling.

Long story short, Husband and Wife are finally together in the States!!!!.

All went well and we're looking forward to enjoying each other's company as much as we can every passing day

to make up for the lost time.

We want to use this opportunity to sincerely thank each and every one of you for your support, well wishes and prayers.

We couldn't have made it without you all.

It looked impossible from the start, but here we are talking about the first part of our journey in the past.

Congratulations to those who also made it and our sincere encouragements to those still believing, hoping and wishing.

Thank YOU!!!!!!!!!

Congratulation. Welcome to the USA. Happy married life.

So I got my IL on Jan 23 and I finished my medical on Jan 26, waiting for the results now. They said it will take 7 working days...

My interview date is Feb 11 and ceac case status still shows as "in transit".

I want to get an earlier interview date if possible.

Should I wait before requesting for one or can I send a mail now itself? 🤔

(Manama consulate)

You can;t do anything until the embassy receives. You can try because the petition is probably there they just have logged it in. You have 2 weeks so you better move on it now.

IF we got our interview and had our passports back, we'd wait.  Our anniversary is Mar. 31.  We're so close now, yet it feels like a million years away.  I'm so nervous and apprehensive about that second week in February when the Montreal consulate issues interviews.  I want so much to just go back home!

Marriage: Mar. 31, 2018

PD: June 14, 2018

L1 expiration: Sept. 20, 2018 - kids and I left the US to prevent visa overstay

DQ: Oct. 10, 2019

IL: maybe March?

Hubs had to deal with the long wait for his citizenship too, @dwheels76.  Houston is sloooooooowwwww.  We applied for his citizenship in September 2017, he didn't get his interview until November of 2018 and then it took 10 weeks after his interview for his ceremony to be scheduled.  Had it been like OKC or somewhere with less volume, he likely would have had it in a few months and we could have applied to freeze my L1 status and I wouldn't have had to leave.

well  good thing for you you will get a 10 year green card. YES!!

Houston was a 18 to 24 month wait when we filed. That's why we filed with I-751 pending. But the estimated changed every month and we just waited 8 months for this interview not bad. Then we will have to wait for I-751 to get approved then the oath.

they send petitions to embassy in bundles and since they still were scheduling up to friday. It can be a 1 to 2 weeks. It just depends. Then 3 to 5 days to say READY.

It's not like when i filed in 2015 where you could actually track your petition to the embassy. It's all electronic now. So all you can do is watch your status.

Creating the profile is not required. Lagos doesn't require you to make an account. You can;t track at Lagos. So don't worry about creating an account. Some countries you do. Nigeria isn't one of them.

What were you expecting it to say? You need to relax. There's nothing nefarious going on. It will say READY until it says AP then ISSUED.

Remember there is a CO assigned to your case. They are now doing their homework, investigation whatever they need to do to prepare for the questions and such and frankly approve or deny you before you even step foot there.

You might see alot of updates or none. Our petition arrived 4 weeks before our interview and never updated until the night before.

Thanks as always though because I thought you just went up to whoever was available and they did the questions there

What is your visa category? They may have a different category then you? Have you called NVC? No you don't have to communicate with them.

You probably have a date. Have you checked your email. Man y here were scheduled and didn't get the letter for a day or 2.

My husband is US citizen, we have visa CR1 and CR2. We were calling NVC,  and I guess we figure out what's going on. We have three cases for me and for the kids. My case and one of my daughter's was DQ at December 11, but on the same day they asked to submit our marriage certificate to another case. We did it immediately, after what we call NVC and ask them if it will affect on waiting time for IL to our DQ cases. They said NO. So that document is still not reviewed. We've been waiting 8 weeks to IL. But last Friday we called them again, and they said that it's all because of my daughter's case. They are waiting when the document will be reviewed and then they will schedule all our appointments together.
