i am probably overthinking this, but for the interview it says bring a photocopy of tax returns, so can i use the same copy we scanned and sent to NVC? I don't have the originals, and i'm wondering if my husband will need to send them to me?

Yes copies are fine. I doubt they will even ask for them.

Remember these instructions cover so many visa types.  for everyone going through NVC the embassy has all the need for those documents. Unless people have updates it's really not needed.

But better to have and not need right.

No, tax return is not just a filled out form

tax return is a disclosure of your income, personal details and filed by you. A transcript is what is reported by employer to IRS as reporting requirement set by IRS for employers and not employees.

Actually that's all a tax form is is a filled out form. That's why many embassies request transcripts. Anyone can download turbo tax fill out the forms however they want and print them and never filed. Tax transcripts is proof you filled your taxes.

Rule of thumb is whatever you gave NVC take the other one to the interview just in case.

That means that was their earliest opening. You can always now email the embassy and request an earlier date see if it can be moved.

Not to mention not all things are cut and dry.  When we filed my I-130, I had been legally in the US on an L1.  We were married and filed jointly.  The transcript provided the information to verify my husband's income, independent of mine, satisfied the AOS requirements.  Of course his taxes said so as well, but the IRS guaranteed it.

You getting way aheda of yourself but forst no the spouse you has to be a citizen also.

General Eligibility Requirements

Have been living in marital union with the U.S. citizen spouse, who has been a U.S. citizen during all of such period, during the 3 years immediately preceding the date of filing the application and up until examination on the application

1. is there a reason why it takes so long. Yes they are busy. Plus remember I have also a Citizenship in the works so my petitions were combined so I am now in the Naturalization line and well for Houston it's very backlogged. There are other places takes 3 to 4 months from filing to oath. Not here.

Plus the majority that filed when I did already have there 10 year green card now they are filing for citizenship. That's their choice.

2. Who cares if it gives them the upper hand. If you arrive in US after 2 year anniversary and many citizens also arrive after you get 10 year green cad pure and simple. If people want the 10 year green card all they have to do is delay and make sure they arrive after the 2 year wedding anniversary. Everyone has that choice to do so.

You are deff right. Will deal with that hurdle when we get there. Thank you for the insight.

Cut and dry. Is that a word the US government even know. They I swear are 50 shades of grey. And not the erotic fun kind either. 😂🤣

Just a little tip. When spouse arrives. Live your life have fun. But also keep a folder for your Removal of Conditions evidence. So adding to bank statements, tax filed together,  bills, health care, life insurance, lease, mortgage, the trips taken, pictures taken, letters sent to you bot, license showing same address.

Keep in folder then when time to file you have everything at your finger tips.

But most of all have fun and enjoy and for at least 21 months forget about Immigration and enjoy your spouse.

You are so right. I miss him like crazy and will be more then happy to be done with immigration stuff for awhile. We have it in our plans to move states would you recommend to do that after the ROC or we can do it in the 2 year time frame.

Also i was trying to file out my timeline and for some reason keeps saying the dates i put in i think contradict. I think it was the question asking when you filed your I130 i was putting in the date i sent it to uscis but then the date that i got my noa1 is to far off or something idk.
