Congrats!  We got DQ on Jan 8, 2020 after waiting 7 weeks.  We're waiting now for the Sydney interview notification.  If we use your timeline as an estimate, we should get the IL by mid-to-late February and maybe have the interview in early March.  Here's hoping I get an early birthday present. 🤞

Thank you!!!

Here's hoping for you! I think you should be fine to get an interview for March

Please send me the link if you have it, thanks so much. I had no idea that they wanted the tax transcripts too. I will email those to him if they are required. Thanks again

Tax returns and transcript are same thing. You don’t need both. Take whatever you submitted to NVC as it was approved.

Not exactly. A tax return is just the filled out 1040. A transcript is well, the transcript with the full information you can request from IRS. But yes only one is needed though typically they also want W2s if a return is used instead of a transcript

No, tax return is not just a filled out form

tax return is a disclosure of your income, personal details and filed by you. A transcript is what is reported by employer to IRS as reporting requirement set by IRS for employers and not employees.

Hey Dwheels76 I was DQ on Dec 20..interview is supposed to take place in Abu Dhabi. Any information on the average of wait for the IL? Can't find a lot of information about Abu Dhabi. Thanks in advance.

Hi @Ramar1 I submitted our docs on Dec 24th, I am still waiting for DQ. How long did you wait from CC to get the interview in Abu Dhabi?

I'm also in Abu Dhabi, they will give your interview date or you will book it yourself?

Thanks!

Hey.. Well it varies, I submitted my documents 3 times. 1st time they replied back In 2 weeks. 2nd time they replied back in 3 weeks. And 3rd time they DQ'd me after 7 longggggg weeks

Interview depends on the type, mine is Cr1.. They sent the interview appointment. The other type of appointments you have to book the appointment yourself I hear

Thank you for the info. I'm trying to find all this out now so i have an idea going forward when my spouse is here. Is there a reason the condition removal takes so long? So from your reply you can start filing for your spouse to become a citizen even when you are waiting for the removal of conditions ( as long as it's been 3 years of your LPR status)?

Is this all the same for a spouse that isn't a citizen and they are also just a LPR if after 3 years of their spouses LPR the spouse can file for citizenship even if the person that filed for them isn't a citizen themselves? I was told that if you are a permanent resident filing for your spouse the whole process takes about 3 years start to finish so doesn't that give them an upper hand cuz there spouse is always going to be issued a 10 year green card and don't have to go though any process of getting conditions removed.

(sorry about so many questions just wanna be informed about everything)

You getting way aheda of yourself but forst no the spouse you has to be a citizen also.

General Eligibility Requirements

Have been living in marital union with the U.S. citizen spouse, who has been a U.S. citizen during all of such period, during the 3 years immediately preceding the date of filing the application and up until examination on the application

1. is there a reason why it takes so long. Yes they are busy. Plus remember I have also a Citizenship in the works so my petitions were combined so I am now in the Naturalization line and well for Houston it's very backlogged. There are other places takes 3 to 4 months from filing to oath. Not here.

Plus the majority that filed when I did already have there 10 year green card now they are filing for citizenship. That's their choice.

2. Who cares if it gives them the upper hand. If you arrive in US after 2 year anniversary and many citizens also arrive after you get 10 year green cad pure and simple. If people want the 10 year green card all they have to do is delay and make sure they arrive after the 2 year wedding anniversary. Everyone has that choice to do so.
