Whew Chile I almost cursed! Do y’all know how much of a Godsend @dwheels76 is? She’s contributed to our community more than ANYONE! We are all on this journey together, learning from one another and we’re supposed to be supporting each other not finding flaws in things. True, people don’t update their timelines and sometimes they use wrong dates. Shoot I mistakingly put my DQ date as 12/26 when it was really 12/24. It’s not that deep! And that surely ain’t her fault! That spreadsheet is the BEST TOOL we have and it helps ease my anxiety to see where others are. It gives me hope. I’m not just out here wondering or guessing as much. I can see patterns. And if I have questions she has always been here to answer them for all of us even though it is not her job! She’s compiles information from her threads and people’s timelines into a spreadsheet so we don’t have to be looking through every Nigerian (or other) timeline for DQ and interview dates (though my anxiety makes me look anyway sometimes lol). I thank God for her. Seems the issue is over but I’m late to the party and figured I’d say my piece too. Carry on. Looking forward to my IL!

Bless you. This is so heartfelt. And like you I am an addict. I have 5 different apps for USCIS on my phone (i have my own cases too to follow) 19 months ya'll. hehe

But I appreciate you all really I do. We all here together on this Visajourney Love boat with so much in common then not.

Does anyone know how long it takes to take the conditions off the CR1 visa? Also is there a certain wait period your spouse will have to wait before they can file to become a citizen?

You just asked this question above. I answered you.

Got that sweet IL baby!!!!

DQ: Dec 12th 2019

IL: Jan 15th 2020

Interview: Feb 4th 2020

Sydney consulate

Time to book that medical and prepare for my interview!

I have also updated my timeline and filled out the spreadsheet form like a good boy :D

Yieeeeew!!!!

Congrats!  We got DQ on Jan 8, 2020 after waiting 7 weeks.  We're waiting now for the Sydney interview notification.  If we use your timeline as an estimate, we should get the IL by mid-to-late February and maybe have the interview in early March.  Here's hoping I get an early birthday present. 🤞

Our ROC story so far...
1/3/2022: I-751 sent via USPS Priority Mail; delivered to Phoenix Lockbox 1/5
1/6/2022: CC processed for filing and biometric fees
1/7/2022: Received receipt # via text
1/15/2022:  Received NOA and 24-month extension letter
1/22/2022:  Received biometrics appointment letter
2/8/2022:  Biometrics appointment
10/2/2023:  SURPRISE!  We received the I-751 approval letter and 10-year green card without an interview.

Well the 2 years green card is a green card. But i get your question. We are going through this now and citizenship filing.

90 days from the day you become LPR (Legal Permanent Resident) you can file within that 90 day window your I-751 to remove conditions to get 10 year green card.

Then 1 year later 90 days from your 3 year anniversary as a LPR you are eligible to file for citizenship. As longg as you are still married to your US citizen spouse.

We filed ROC (Removal of Conditions) 19 months ago. And filed for Citizenship 8 months ago.

Thank you for the info. I'm trying to find all this out now so i have an idea going forward when my spouse is here. Is there a reason the condition removal takes so long? So from your reply you can start filing for your spouse to become a citizen even when you are waiting for the removal of conditions ( as long as it's been 3 years of your LPR status)?

Is this all the same for a spouse that isn't a citizen and they are also just a LPR if after 3 years of their spouses LPR the spouse can file for citizenship even if the person that filed for them isn't a citizen themselves? I was told that if you are a permanent resident filing for your spouse the whole process takes about 3 years start to finish so doesn't that give them an upper hand cuz there spouse is always going to be issued a 10 year green card and don't have to go though any process of getting conditions removed.

(sorry about so many questions just wanna be informed about everything)

i am probably overthinking this, but for the interview it says bring a photocopy of tax returns, so can i use the same copy we scanned and sent to NVC? I don't have the originals, and i'm wondering if my husband will need to send them to me?

No, spouses of US citizens only can file for naturalization after 3 years, I’m pretty sure spouses of LPRs must wait 5 years

From the documents you submitted at NVC you need the originals of some documents plus a photocopy and just the photocopy of others.  There’s a checklist. I’m not sure if it’s the same for every embassy but it probably is.  You do need the I864 and tax return and W2 if you sent them.
