the ceac case status still shows as "at nvc". What does that mean? 

I received DQ on 8th Jan. 

It means your petition is at NVC. It will say that until you are scheduled your interview. Once you are scheduled then it goes to "In Transit" and then when it arrives and you are logged into system changes to"READY".

So now you just wait. Hopefully it will be soon maybe a January date for you who knows.

They might not even get to end of October for February There were alot od DQ's.

Imagine I know 15 for Nigeria with DQ in October. Not everybody is on Visajourney. So multiple that 15 by about 50 and that's what the queue is like just for a month on average with 3 to 4 slots given per day Mon-Thur at Lagos. Not alot of room.

It's all about how many are in teh queue ahead of you and how many slots they have available for IR1/CR1 interviews. Every category of visa have their select # of slots per day.

Pls am having difficulty making online payment via ceac. Keeps telling me unable to locate acct. Filled out correct routing no. acct no. called my bank and they want me to call nvc. Everything good from my end. The message says:

You recently tried to pay fees related to immigrant visa case # using the online Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC). Unfortunately, the receiving bank was unable to accept your payment for the following reason: 03 - NO ACCOUNT / UNABLE TO LOCATE.

Pls is there any other option of payment other than wire transfer?

Preference no. Every visa category has their own # of slots allowed. Some months there are more F2A. 
When the monthly calendar is sent to NVC it has the # of each visa category for each day allowed. Now NVC starts plugging in the petitions in those dates and times. How you are scheduled is dependent on DQ and PD date.

 

They been starting to schedule mid month. I see Pakistan already strted so they schedule until they either run out of petitions (Unlikely) or they run out of slots. That's for most embassies.

 

That's why when i tell people to call NVC you ask for your specific embassy. Never ask "Have you started scheduling" Too generic. Ask "Have you started scheduling for Islamabad"? and "have you completed scheduling for February".

They aren't going to tell you "Oh we stopped on DQ XX. They will say yes or no and that's it and you wait till next round.

 

They use to do scheduling for the next month starting at end of month and was done by end of first week. That stopped about 9 months ago but they go back and forth.

More like a March date for you since you just got DQ. November folks got January so now they are finishing up later part of November and going into December. It's never been 2 weeks for Jamaican. But still faster then most usually 1 month wait or more after DQ.

 

There's no formula or how long a wait it's all about how many peopleare before you waiting. No one knows thats why it's really a big guessing came.

Oh so wait, that end of month/start of month thing changed? Or at least based on what you've observed. So though I got DQ 1/8 I might still be scheduled before January is out? Or just call them on Monday and ask if they finished instead?

They send when they send. I remember getting my letter on a weekend Of course I already got the date by phone was on the phone while they were scheduling us.

They put all in a batch job and usually run it by end of day. They usually come 24 to 48 hrs after scheduling.

You should be in the NVC filers group. But is this account drawn from an US Bank. If you called your bank and they say everything is good. Call NVC monday they the ones rejecting it.

Well they are still in December scheduling for February so I doubt you will get a February date. When you get DQ matters too. You got DQ during scheduling window so you got to figure you are at the end of the list. Just all depends on how many slots they have open for February.

 

I know when they start scheduling they are done within 2 to 3 days doesn't take long to fill in slots.
