Hello.

I have submitted i129F for my fiancee back in July.

She is Croatian, but currently living in Dubai, UAE as a legal resident.

I have received a Request of Evidence for question 62a: Please Indicate the specific U.S Embassy or U.S Consulate abroad where the beneficiary's nonimmigrant K-1 visa will be processed.

In the initial form we submitted, we have chose: City: Abu Dhabi  & Country: UAE.

I am not sure why did we receive the Request of Evidence? I know UAE has a US Embassy in Abu Dhabi, and a US Consulate in Dubai.

Please advise.

Send evidence of her legal residence in UAE, with a letter reiterating that although she is a Croatian citizen, she is a legal resident of UAE, and requests to interview there.

Huh. I was under the impression that the 'pick an embassy/consulate' question was completely ignored, and they always selected the embassy/consulate to send the petition to based on the beneficiary's current physical address.

Honestly, I don't understand why that question is there; barring extraordinary circumstances you can't get a K-1 processed at anywhere other than the embassy/consulate that handles immigrant visas for your current residence...

It's all about proving eligibility to interview in the UAE,  there is only on IV unit that will do the interview and that is abu Dhabi not Dubai
