Hello,

We are currently doing a i129f packet. We have a few questions about different things.

1. we have scanned in the whole passport as proof of US citizenship, do we have to sign each page, or is it ok to just leave it blank with the scanned image?

2. on the cover letter do we have to include everything that's in there? for example how many photos, and pages of packet and such? We will have around 30 pages of proof with photos, bag tags, date receipts, letters, postcards. Would this be our 'proof of having met in person in last 2 years, and proof of on going relationship?

 We have:

Contents include:

  • Payment in the amount of $535
  • I-129F
  • I-129F Supplement:
  • Passport style photo (Petitioner)
  • Passport style photo (Beneficiary)
  • US Passport (Petitioner)
  • Letter certifying intent to marry (Petitioner and Beneficiary)
  • Proof of having met in person in the past two years
  • Proof of ongoing relationship
  •

we have the blank bullet point as we need to add beneficiaries deed poll onto this.

That takes me to the third question...

3. We will put a copy of Beneficiaries deed poll (name change), is it okay to put deed poll, or should we put 'document of name change' as we are not sure if deed poll is a known word.

4. In the cover letter, where it says 'i129f supplement' is that extra pages we have used for additional information? We have used blank pages with the petitioners name, the page, part and item, then listed everything.

5. on the i129f form, do we have to put N/A in all blank spaces? For example petitioners dad does not have a middle name so we have put N/A.

We really do appreciate any help!!!!

to add on another question!

Do we have to put each individual piece of paper in a plastic sleeve, or is it okay to put for example the i129f forms into one wallet? What is best?

1. No need to sign the pages

2. cover letter isn’t required, but suggested. I didn’t use one but if I did I would only put each category name. And then a corresponding cover sheet on each category

3. put ’name change’

4. optional as is the cover letter

5. Don’t use plastic sleeves at all. Use paper clips, no staples. And binder clips if necessary

For the petition you need proof of meeting.   Proof of ongoing is not required. Post cards, letters,  photos,  etc,  do not prove face to face meeting

we understand that, it says 'photo's, date receipts.. etc' we were just asking if we needed to separate them.

If you understand that,  then why are you including "noise" in the petition that the adjudicator does not need to make a decision?

YMMV

Perhaps I’m not reading this right, but I thought the rule of thumb is the more evidence you include to prove your case, the better. How do you determine the difference between valuable evidence and “noise”?

2.  Just include plane tickets, photos (about 3) and your visa/immigration stamps.

Your luggage claim check tags prove nothing.

Proof of ongoing relationship is not needed, at all.  You really should re-read the INSTRUCTIONS and follow the VISA JOURNEY GUIDE.

Quality not quantity.   You review each piece of evidence to see if it directly contributes to proving the requirement.   Chats, emails,  cards, letters and even photos do not directly prove meeting within the past two years.   Most of the above prove that at theose times you were actually not together

YMMV
