Are you disappointed that they scheduled your interview?!!!

VA is not that far from NYC.  Just drive there or have someone drive you there (even if you have to pay them) and attend your interview on time with no changes. If you have to book a hotel room and be there ready to go one night in advance, that would be smart. When you go to the interview, tell them that you are in the process of getting a new state ID if they ask you.  I hope that helps!

I am beyond excited and I wish it was that easy. It’s $29 for a quick flight up to nyc on the date but once I get there, I would have to quarantine and I have work. I also don’t want to go there and they say, “we see that you moved to VA.” I have been waiting so long so trust me I’m hurt but I rather just doing it VA rather than go through the hassle. Imagine going there and they said, you just traveled from VA, why are you here and not quarantined? I hope you see where I’m going with this.

I do see it and understand it, but I don't think that way!

Don't get on a flight.  I am saying drive... Like get in your car and drive there or if you don't drive, then have someone drive you there.  DO NOT take a flight! That would be a big mistake.  Also, don't take public transportation!  drive there your self or go with family/friend. This way you do not need to isolate when you get there.

In regards to the second part of your point... What they may tell you because about being/living in VA:  You don't know that they will say no to you.  There is a possibility that they will process it and in that case, I would ask you, wouldn't you be very glad you went to NYC?!  I think that way... And if they end up saying "no why are you here" and "you should be in VA," then you remind them that they are the ones who invited you to come there and that you have done the address change on their website. If they still say no, then at least you have tried.  So, yes, I would take days off of work to go out of town to NYC driving for this important interview. If they say yes, then you are very glad you went. If they say no, then you know you have tried, and they will re-schedule you in VA.

I hope that helps...

NY has mandatory quarantine of 14 days for everyone arriving from a location that is not CT, MA, NJ, PA or VT...

Just wanted to update everyone. My interview ended 5 mins ago. It was a quick and simple process took me like 8-10 mins, in and out. My appointment was for 8:40, I got there at 8:39 and checked in at 8:45. My number was called at 8:49 and I proceeded with the officer to his office. Took an oath to tell the truth then he proceeded to the speaking and writing test and then the civics test. He asked me 6 questions, I only remember a few like the bill of rights question, the Vice President is next in line, we the people, the Atlantic Ocean is to the east and what makes up the Congress- House of Representatives and senate and what are the two major political parties- the democratic and republican prty. After that he said congrats and he then asked questions from my application. He then said this concludes the interview as he was satisfied with my case it was straight forward. Told me congrats and that he is approving my application. Yay me🎉🎉🥳🥂. On my way out we spoke about the weather because Chicago had a huge snow storm. But that was it. Good luck to the rest of you waiting all the best.

Congratulations on getting approval mine got cancelled on the day of inauguration so will have to wait.

I get it, and I thought about all that because I was in nyc recently and I drove up and drove back down. Unfortunately, I called and they canceled it almost immediately so that’s my luck. I have to charge it to the game and go back to waiting on Norfolk field office.

USPS lost my I751 greencard. What course of action do I need to take apart from requesting another card from USCIS? Anyone have had a success in acquiring lost greencard from USPS?

“Lost” for how long? The USPS has been a mess since the election. Mail takes up to 6 weeks. I actually waited that long for a package with tracking number, shipped within the state. For 5 good weeks the item was circling around within 20 miles radius of my home address. According to your timeline the I-751 was just approved this month? I would give it until the end of February and just file a missing mail complaint with the tracking number for now.

Actually I requested to put my mail on hold due to not being at home. As per USCIS tracking ID, green card is held at local post office by customer(my) request and when I went there earlier today to pickup my accumulated mail , they could not find any mail and left me with lame excuse! I put a complain against USPS and I dont think this will help!

I wouldn’t worry just yet, they found mine 3 weeks after I filed the complaint.

If you filed the complaint at the office, file an additional complaint online. It sounds like ALL your mail went missing? I’m sure it will surface eventually.

I did file complaint at the post office as well as online too. The supervisor is supposed to call me back on Monday or Tuesday. Frankly I am not even worried about greencard. My oat ceremony is scheduled on Feb 05,2021. My concern is what if USCIS officer ask for it at oat ceremony and cancel my oat ceremony? I filed a complaint for non-delivery of  greencard at USCIS website as well

I got my oath ceremony scheduled on January 11, for an actual ceremony on January 4, which got then de-scheduled with “a sorry for the inconvenience” on January 25. I am in Orlando. Did anyone get a similar notice?

Maybe you're one of the lucky ones impacted by this:

"Between Jan. 5 and Jan. 21, 2021, USCIS issued receipt notices with incorrect information to applicants who submitted Forms N-400, N-565, N-600, N-600K, or N-336 online. The error does not have any impact on the pending application and applicants can disregard that receipt notice. USCIS will mail new, corrected notices in the coming days and post corrected notices to applicants’ USCIS online accounts."

It's the first notification that appears when you login to the online account.

I wouldn't worry about that. You filed everywhere that it wasn't delivered, bring those papers to the oath and your expired greencard I would say

The receipt notice for me was issued on Jan 11 for the scheduling of the appointment. Then the de-scheduling was on 25th, which means that the wrong document was the appointment. Should I call them and check which is which, show up to the oath ceremony as if nothing has happened, or just wait?
