Does anyone know the shortest length of time it has taken for anybody to receive a k-1 visa from Africa? ...

From the filing date to the visa in hand. Ive heard that someone received it in 9 months is this possible?

Hard to say much about Africa as a whole as visas are processed by country, not continent.

With expedites, I've seen under 2 months.

Without an expedite, I think I saw under 4 months back when the I-129F was taking 30-60 days.

 

Nowadays, the average seems to be around 6-8 months IIRC?

Note that this is the average timeline for people who file ~6-8 months ago. No way to know how long it will take for somebody who files today...that timeline can easily shift in either direction.

They (well, the petitions) are all processed at CSC (barring certain criminal activity and complex cases later sent to VSC, which is a rare exception).

4/6/2017: Received, 4/12/2017: Sent to Riyadh embassy, 4/16/2017: Case received at Riyadh embassy, 4/21/2017: Request case transfer to Manila, approved 4/24/2017

 

K-1

5/1/2017: Case received by Manila (1 week embassy transfer??? Lucky~)

7/13/2017: Interview: APPROVED!!!

7/19/2017: Visa in hand

8/15/2017: POE

Not common, since many of the African consulates are considered high-fraud.
