Yes, K1 applicants require a medical examination and relevant vaccinations related to your situation. You must have your exam done before your visa is issued. It’s best to schedule your medical exam 2 weeks before your interview.

i hope your timeline is not correct as you are waiting for a K1 visa interview and timeline says (near bottom) you married the 28th

Uh oh. If that’s the case doesn’t that disqualify them for the K1? I was going to add on the medical can be done after the interview too but if they aren’t eligible for the K1 due to marriage I wonder how it’ll work. I didn’t even notice that in the timeline.

Nah I think it was OP hoping her fiancé would be here so they could have married on December 28th. (3 days ago)

OP. Vaccines are not needed to get the visa. Your fiancé can get them in the US but I would say it would be easier to just get them in home country and get a complete mark on the medical papers and then it is ready to be sent with the AOS package after marriage.

Yes to the medical exam.

Vaccinations for a K-1 are actually not required. They are required for AOS, though. But it is almost always preferable to do them with the K-1 medical...

1) Usually cheaper abroad than in the US

2) Less paperwork for AOS (no I-693).

3) Finding a Civil Surgeon in the US to sign off on the vaccinations on the I-693 w/o doing another full medical exam can range from difficult to impossible. Most are unfamiliar with the K-1 circumstances that only vaccinations are required from them, so they will refuse to sign it w/o a new medical.

Hello VJ Family.
I want to know if Immunizations is required for Visa Approval or can we get them when he come to the US? I don’t want anything to delay our process. Our interview is in a Month. Thanks!

Yes, it is required. During your visa process you will need to go to a medical appointment, determined by the consulate, and the doctor will ask for your immunization historical

They are not required for a K-1 visa.

K visa applicants are encouraged to get the vaccinations required under U.S. immigration law for immigrant visa applicants.  Although such vaccinations are not required for K visa issuance, they will be required when adjusting status to that of legal permanent resident following your marriage. Applicants are therefore encouraged to fulfill these vaccination requirements at the time of the medical examination. See Vaccination Requirements for IV Applicants for the list of required vaccinations and additional information.
