This is one reason I moved to colombia, affordable healthcare. $100 a month insurance premium, covers everything, including teeth, eye, and medication.

This site tells you the cost of a vial of insulin (for the different types)

you will see the prices range from $93 to $1813 per vial

you would have to know what type of diabetes she has / needing a diagnosis here in the US

and how many vials she uses in each month 

 

you also should check with health care insurance at work as some allow you to add members of family (including parents that live with you)

It is not impossible but very unusual to be able to add a parent but then at what cost?
