Can someone please explain to me again how you go about terminating a I 864 before the green card is issued?  I have a friend that is divorcing his wife and he needs to know where to send the letter?  Also, his wife has all the USCIS receipt paperwork so he needs to know where he can find their petition information?

What is the reason for divorce? We ask because it should, at the very least, be ethical, not just that someone woke up and decided he/ she no longer wants his/her package and wants to return it/ get rid of it. We see a lot of those.

Since you've mentioned that she hasn't got her first GC, then sending a letter withdrawing I-864 and subsequently not going to the interview are his best bets.

Regardless, whichever way he goes, just tell him to make sure he's careful as not to be slapped with a VAWA claim.

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

He sends a letter to USCIS requesting to withdraw the I-864. Preferably the local field office if the I-485 has been sent there yet.

He can also do so at the interview in person.

He can write a letter to the address where the initial i-130 or whatever petition was filed requesting a withdrawal of the petition.

Call it what you will ("package").  Reason is irrelevant really.  If I'd be divorcing somebody, I'd be withdrawing the i-864 if GC wasn't issued yet.  There's no way in hell that I'd continue to sponsor somebody.  I don't think many people would, no matter what the circumstances.
