My USC wife is petitioning I-130 for me. She has petitioned for me twice before:

1. I-129f K1 which was approved by USCIS, withdrawn at the consular stage.

2. I-130 which was approved by USCIS, IR1 visa was also issued but not used to enter the U.S.

I am confused what my A-Number is if any? Some people seem to say it is on the NOA2. I just checked my I-130 NOA2 and it indeed has a number that goes like A-XXX-XXX-XXX. My unused IR1 visa also has a 8 digit "registration number" (without a leading A, and does not match the last 8 digits of the A-XXX-XXX-XXX number on the I-130 NOA2) which some people claim is the alien registration number. Although I cannot find my NOA2 from old K1 application. I left the A-Number field blank when applying for I-130 (in case my K1 NOA2 had an A-Number, I wasn't aware of that). I am trying to find the old K1 NOA2 to see if it also had a number that looked like A-XXX-XXX-XXX and if it was same as I-130 NOA2 number. I am not too hopeful that I'll be able to locate the old K1 NOA2.

I am very confused if I have an A-Number, and if so, what is it? If my wife were to call USCIS, would they be able to get this information? Can our application be denied if we left this field blank?

Thanks!

Check you passport, the old visa in it should have it printed on it.

Well in that case it is an 8 digit number without a leading A (there is no leading A). On the other hand the number on my previous I-130 NOA2 has the A-XXX-XXX-XXX format, which matches what form I-130 & I-130A seem to be looking for. Any opinions?

Any chance the numbers are the same just not listing the A on the visa?

No. Please take the time to read my original post. I mentioned it there. Otherwise we'll just fill the first page of this thread with me repeating myself and future visitors won't find any meaningful answers on the first page.

Answering my own question here for future visitors. The alien registration number is the "registration number" on your immigrant visa. If it is not 9 digit add 0s in front of it and add an A before it. Please see the official USCIS guidelines on how to find your A-Number - https://www.uscis.gov/forms/immigrant-fee-payment-tips-finding-your-a-number-and-dos-case-id
