Hi!!

I am currently filling out the i129. I am from the UK and we are applying for a K1 visa

My fiancée was born in puerto rico, as were her parents, when it says ‘country of birth’ would that be United States of America, or would it be Puerto Rico. Any help would be appreciated. I don’t want to get this part wrong. Thank you.

Proposed - December 22nd 2019

i129F sent - January 13th 2020 (Start of the lonnnng journey!)

That would be the United States of America. Puerto Rico is an  unincorporated territory of the US, just like the British Virgin Islands to the United Kingdom. People who were born in Puerto Rico are US citizens by birth. The US does have other territories beside the 50 states.

to add on to that question... in ‘town of residence’ if it is somewhere with a popular name like St. Cloud, would i also have to specify the state?

I mean, we are sat here doing it together whilst she is in the country, I'm just more technically minded in terms of computers so I'm here asking the questions for her.
