Should I reschedule?

Currently have an interview scheduled for the 6th of January in Montreal for my entry into the US under I-130 as part of DCF.

Originally I got the wrong police background check (through Toronto Police service) before I realised mistake.

I have already been to commisionaires and filed a request under the privacy act - they confirmed they received on December 16th.

Now they are saying they cannot give me an estimate of when it will be ready or shipped.

I'm worried if I show up without it, it will seriously delay my applications.

I am debating rescheduling my interview.

Thoughts or advice?

Do not reschedule your appointment.  Attend as scheduled. If you don't have the police report, they will issue you a 221g.  Your case will be "on hold" until you submit the required report to the consulate.

A bit of a technicality but the I-130 gives you no benefit whatsoever. If successful, the Embassy will issue an immigrant visa and you will use that to enter the US.

No it won't. Just show up, the will issue a 221g, you turn in the police report when you have it and they will issue visa, if there are no problems.

I had 2 family member who did the background check. It takes about 14 days. I think you should have it before your interview. Good luck

Some people have been approved with a few variations of the police certificate, so show up with it and at worst, like others have said, you'll get the 221g and you can submit it once you have it. Rescheduling your appointment will cause way, way more of a delay.

I would not reschedule an immigrant visa interview.  To do so you have to miss the interview then attempt to reschedule online.  Some people have waited over a year to reschedule because the dates are ao far and few between.  While a 221g can take forever, at least they have the info and you've done the interview.
