Not on Netflix, but we just watched Godzilla v. King Kong. I preface this by saying I am kind of a huge Godzilla fan and will watch pretty much anything with the big guy in it, so YMMV.

On Netflix, I am still working my way through The Crown. Bridgerton was fun if you like sudsy romances with hot sex scenes. (Not saying I do but...) Queen's Gambit of course -- that was amazing. I watched some of Mank, but I just couldn't get into it. We started the Irregulars, which has a lot of promise, but... I'm not connecting to it.

Oh, and all my mom (here in CA) and my MIL and SIL (in the UK) could talk about on our weekly family Zoom on Saturday is an Israeli show called Shtisel: https://www.netflix.com/title/81004164

Haven't watched many movies lately.  I seem to get stuck with series that go on for ever.  Just finished watching "The Americans" on Amazon Prime.

You know where a show just seems like halfway in not much sex has been had, and then all the sudden it gets with a lot of sex but you think yeah I guess that's plausible and then every single episode after that is a lot of kind of weird sex that's sort of happening in a relative parallel to the plot but then it BECOMES CONSUMED with the whole plot? There's people that went into the show not knowing anything about the books and thought it was going to be a relatively tame Jane Austinesque family friendly thing and boy were they surprised.

So I have read all the Bridgerton books, and I can see how people would be surprised if they thought the sexy bits would be limited to heaving bosoms and flashed ankles. The first book -- The Duke and I -- which the first season is mostly based on is restrained in its depiction of sex compared to Francesca's story, When He Was Wicked (Book 6). But Book 2 -- The Viscount Who Loved Me, which is Anthony's story, and next up for adaptation -- actually has very little sex. It does have a satisfying love story in it, with a heroine who is far more clever than Daphne.

Honestly, I didn't like Daphne in the adaptation. She came off as far more dull than in the book, where she's witty and funny and chronically overlooked as a match. She is not new to the marriage market, as she is in the show, and her being passed over repeatedly because she's been put in the friend zone is part of the plot. It really changes things to make her completely fresh.

The really hot sex is in Book 6. If anyone is interested.

I didnt like Daphne in the show ( cant compare with the books). The actor playing the Duke is the most gorgeous creature ever though.

I started Shtisel and I am already seriously hooked.

Daphne in the show is a drip. I just could not wrap my head around anyone, let alone Regé-Jean Page's (aka Sex on Legs to my sister-in-law and I do not disagree) Duke, falling madly in love with her. She has the sex appeal of a toaster oven in my opinion.
