So I was complaining to my friend who is in the process of moving out of the Bay Area down to the Valley again (she finally bought a decent sized house for the price of a postage stamp in the East Bay) about how the Valium on Friday made drinking a no-no, and that it would have been nice to have a touch. In the plus column, Amazon managed to deliver a box to my door instead of leaving it outside the building. It's the coffee pods for my husband's Keurig, and he's going to be working from home more now because of the virus surge, so I needed to stock up. Losing that would have been bad. I always wonder if the person who stole the package that contained cotton rounds and a multi-pack of Bon Ami scrub thought he or she got a good deal.

My UPS guy, we do not have an Amazon guy, is somewhat portly but makes up for it with dog treats.

OK why do they have a problem, opening door too difficult?

It's so bizarre. So basically to get into our building, you have to walk down this walkway between our building and the one next door; the entrance is set about 20 feet back from the street but well-lit. There's a little directory box, you scroll through the apartments and buzz the one you want. And the major carriers all have the access code to the building that makes it possible to buzz themselves in. DHL and UPS do this no problem. Fedex has it, and occasionally lets itself in, but more often it doesn't even bother to buzz my unit (I am here every day, pretty much all day) and dumps it in the flower bed to the left of the door. Amazon manages it a little better, and if they don't have the code they at least buzz the unit.

 

This isn't brain surgery.
