To all my VJ friends and acquaintances, I wish apologize for a link I inadvertently posted last week.  It was about Hunter, and the thread title was something about p0rnhub.  When I posted the link, I had only skimmed the top two paragraphs, and failed to notice that there were some risqué (though pixelated) photos further down the page.

If anyone saw it and was offended by it, I sincerely apologize for the affront. I may be hard-headed and argumentative, but I have never intentionally posted the likes of that in my 10+ years here.  Those of you who know me, I trust that you know it was an accident.

And for those of you who voted for Biden,.congrats on the win.  I hope you get what you wished for in this election.   Alas, I did not, but thems the breaks.  I hope everyone will support the office of the president if not the man (woman), and I hope we will prosper from the changes.  But I have my doubts on the latter.

Good post.

Not as many as we'd like to. It's something that we really want to do. There's so much of this country I want to show him. Shenandoah is one I remember a lot from my childhood. If the pandemic hadn't happened we may have gone. He's really hyped about visiting some though, especially since we started playing Parks, which is an amazing board game from Keymaster. https://keymastergames.com/products/parks Beautiful artwork, and you essentially try and gain enough 'points' to collect parks as you 'travel/hike' through the seasons.

My mom has been to quite a few in her youth, and there is always the tale of when she took a photograph of momma bear while running away at the Great Smoky. The Polaroid evidence ended up being of her foot...

This year was a boon, and the wife bought the passport book, so we are trying to fill it.  Before this year we did Grand Canyon, and Death Valley two times.  This year we hit Rocky Mountain, Badlands, Wind Cave, Jewel Cave, Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, Mt. Rushmore, Sleeping Bear Dunes, Indiana Dunes, the Minuteman Missile site, and Cuyahoga Valley.  We like hiking, so the parks out West tend to be moe to our liking, but we would like to get out East one of these days.

The husband wanted to know if we would have to buy a gun because would a bear or a 'cougar' try and kill us? I gave him a funny look, as if he thinks bears and such only live in national parks as opposed to the tons of state parks we've been to lol...

Shenandoah is amazing... mom always liked Acadia the best.

We have Bears and Mountain Lions, but the Moose are what scare me.

I went to Big Bear (on the edge of a National Forest) by myself in September to take a mini-break on my own, and my husband asked me if I needed a gun for similar reasons. When I said it was highly unlikely I would see a bear, he told me that sounded like deceptive advertising to name a place Big Bear when they couldn't deliver on the bears.

To my memory, only Big Bend.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

So how many National Parks have people visited.  The wife and I are up to 13 with 11 of them this year.

Well I do drive through Everglades national park every couple of weeks, and even stop in the middle to take a pee.  Just got to watch for the alligators and snakes...

Had to look up all the parks and count.  Looks like I have done 8.  Dry Tortugas is close and has been on my list for a long while.  Just takes some planning to get there.

If I can include national preserves, national seashores, national memorials, and national monuments then my count goes way up.

Yeah, I was actually counting almost anything except for National Forests and National Grasslands.  For instance Sleeping Bear Dunes is a National Lakeshore, and of course Mt. Rushmore and Jewel Caves are National Monuments, and Missileman is a National Historic Site.  The designations are somewhat ambiguous, so I was counting all of them.  I believe Indiana Dunes was a National Lakeshore that was designated an NP last year, their sign has not been updated yet, and honestly the National Lakeshore designation makes more sense.

Should I be worried that VJ is giving me ads for knives, hair color and trips to Hawaii? Is there something I'm missing?
