I made sandwiches -- specifically, bacon butties. I was able to get some back bacon (only decent bacon there is, according to Al) yesterday, so today I baked another loaf of white bread from scratch. Then I made some fresh mayonnaise (I use lemon as the acid). While the rashers were cooking, I spread each slice of bread with butter, then one slice (for each sandwich) got a slick of mayo. Each sandwich got three rashers and just a quick dash of Worcester(shire) sauce. (I had experimented with mixing the sauce in with the mayo, but I wasn't a fan). Green salad on the side. One was more than enough for me but he had two. :) Here is the first one I made:

See? I make sandwiches sometimes, just not on command. We disagreed only on whether the bread should be toasted or not -- I said I preferred it toasted and he said no, he wanted it soft if he couldn't get a bap, and I said no baps. Then there were some off-color jokes about baps. 😐

What about the sandwich??? 😭

LOL  Came home and had a few drinks because my wife's family is STILL here.  Saw your post and that was my first reaction.

I'm finding it a little stressful dealing with the 2 1/2 year old as well as the 8 month old, not to mention the yappy Yorkie.  Alcohol seems to help a lot.

GREAT NEWS:  Stepdaughter says their daycare in Boston reopens June 29th so they will be able to leave shortly after that, but they figure they might as well stay until after July 4th since we usually have a big party then.  Oh Joy...

I find alcohol helps a lot, too, and it's only me and him. :P I can't imagine dealing with a full house like you have been...

They are nice plates, a set I got passed down to me from a family member when I first moved out of the house after college. Noritake china in the Fairmont pattern. It's a set for 12 and I was like, wth am I going to do with a set for 12? I couldn't even fit 12 people in my first apartment without the fire marshal getting worried.

It seems weird to be thinking about July 4th being around the corner, but it sort of is. I had a wedding planning call with my MIL and SIL-to-be yesterday morning and they were fretting about what to wear, when I'm not getting married until October 24th. We have agreed to have an ultra-micro-wedding, about 10 people, immediate family and long-term partners/spouses only. We may even hold it at my parents' house. Here's hoping we aren't in the middle of a second wave by then -- I really want his family to be with us, too.

I don't know who/what Topsy is, but we are trying to be realistic. We want all our people together, but this year isn't the year. Making it immediate family only is a very definite class -- no friend or more distant family member should feel put out because it's only parents, siblings and children (or really, one child). As far as I know, there aren't any more of those! That makes 10 of us, including SOs. (His sister's boyfriend is not getting invited because neither Al nor I like him in the slightest, and I don't see that relationship going much of anywhere.)

Topsy Turvy by Ben and Hannah Dunnett on Amazon Music - Amazon.com

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Not sure if I have used it here but a common phrase, everything is topsy turvy. I did use the term Annus Horriblus in the PO today, seems we do not have many Latin students.

Exactly, I had to explain it, and that lost some of the impact.

They are not related by blood.  They are my wife's daughter's kids.

Does that still make me an ancestor of someone elses descendants?
