Quarantine, Day 5:  Went to this restaurant called "The Kitchen."  You have to gather all the ingredients and make your own meal.  I have no clue how this place is still in business.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Half of us are going to come out of this quarantine as amazing cooks.  The other half will come out with a drinking problem.

Going to ask my therapist if she can do an online referral to a shrink/psychopharmacologist for some ativan/valium. I have a diagnosed anxiety disorder and while I have been off biggie meds for about 3 years today... was a day. I know this is the beginning of something. Believe me, I know what is rational and reasonable and not blowing things out of proportion but my rational mind and anxiety mind don't always have an open dialogue.

Night 5 of Home Schooling: Bomb found, wife barred from eating any more spicy food.

Day 6 of Home-Schooling: Toilets successfully cleaned, finished spicy food from yesterday after changing+washing drawers, toilets destroyed again, school interrupted, monsters called in another bomb threat.

Ugh, spamming this thread. But, question:

Is it or is it not okay to respond to a message from your ex which is partially about things that you need to talk about (money) and partially not (your ex's love life)?

Also, why are we not talking about Tiger King?

YOU don't need to talk about any of that.  that's what attorneys are for.

I got to that place last night. Yesterday... was a bad day. The worst I have had during all of this. But I decided that I am so done done DONE with Voldy reaching out from the tomb of our marriage like a ghoul whenever he likes, and with me responding reflexively. It's all lawyers or trusted third parties now. Once I'm married to Alex the last tie to him will be cut. I would cut it sooner but I'm not an idiot. I'm going to take the money for as long as I can and continue to invest and spend it wisely. If this time is teaching me anything it's that love and kindness keep us running well, both as individuals and as a community. I need more love and kindness, not spite and frustration.

Voldy, you are in the dustbin!😁

Don't worry you don't have that long to go before you don't have to talk to him again. BTW when is the wedding and am I invited?

It is normal to want to have a sane convo with an ex.  And it's kind of a requirement when one shares (younger, at least) kids with the ex.  But from my experience in the past 10 years since my divorce, I would say there were about 2 valid conversations with my ex (about the kids) vice probably 50 or more where she just drug us down and caused a problem.  Last week was the most recent one, and it only consisted of two text messages (and I suspect she was drunk, after the fact).  But it caused a row on my end, and certainly wasn't worth the drama.

BLUF - Most such conversations, unless absolutely legally or child-relatedly necessary, are simply best avoided.  YMMV

Okay, points about money/love life taken, and that is how I have moved forwards. He is texting me tonight about his various GFs and I have said nothing. But I have responded to parts about investments taking a dive and maybe renegotiating support. But I know the courts are closed now so really not much is going to happen.

Just watched it. Train wreck of humanity

Ugggggh, so jealous of you having flour. :( I made one last trek yesterday which included finding flour if possible. Not possible. I ordered 10 lbs from a shop in NYC on the 21st, still waiting on delivery. I'm thinking by now unlikely. I did get 10 pizza bases on my trek which means 10 pizzas, at least. 😕 Yesterday's was a winner AND vegetarian so I have won everything.

Some day I will ask you for your starter. My nutty auntie Carly has said she will send me hers from Rhode Island.

Here's what you are missing out on by delaying...

Wanted to rant a little. Hope you don't mind.

Dad's been in a bad way again since last year's little multi-month hospital stay adventure. Not lucid or responding to verbal commands, not wanting to eat or drink, blanking out to some far away place, mood swings, belligerent nasty stuff. Checked his BP - way too low. Consult telemedicine - they made some med changes, encouraged him to listen to his family and DRINK SOME FLUIDS. Of course he continued doing what he wanted. Today he blacked out.. or fainted or had a seizure or something. Thank god he was sitting at the time - he's had so many prior falls. Again went to the far away place. No responding to commands, speaking streams of angry gibberish. Lost control of... everything. Some debate about calling 911. No question in my mind. But he's screaming he doesn't want to go to the hospital and what are we talking about he's fine and nothing's wrong *gibberish words*. So whatever, fine. My Dad's a big guy, especially at deadweight, but me and my husband lift him into a wheelchair and carry him down steps to the car. He hears an ice cream truck and in some not lucid childlike state thinks he's going for ice cream? Drive him to the ER. They won't let any of us inside. They said they'd call and they haven't. I have no idea what's going on. My sister is his POA and they won't tell give any info, keep saying they'll call back. My husband has been waiting in a car for eight hours now. This is a risk to take him here, he could catch COVID, but the doctor did say if he didn't go he could just as likely die sitting in that chair at home.
