@Boiler, I am watching The Knight Before Christmas (very late) and it is terrible! What am I even watching?

The @ did not work.

All I can say is you were warned.

Suitable for your friend the Divorce Lawyer?

Oh, you remembered Jenn! Very possibly -- my sin is the terrible historical romance novels (Regency preferred period), hers is these awful schlocky Hallmark movies. She has terrible luck with dating -- there is no end of intelligent, talented men in LA who are willing to date women in their mid-30s, apparently, but she never can find one she sees as having long term potential. The one she thought was "the one" ended up having an issue with her making more money than he did. So ridiculous, but glad she learned before it was too late.

Well I remembered that she was a Lawyer and liked this sort of stuff.

Perhaps we need a Wiki, I find it difficult keeping track of all the details.

So not all are of Leonardo DiCaprio's disposition, good to know.

I know there are a lot of sisters and MILs to keep straight. Sorry.

Going away party tonight -- only two more sleeps in the People's Republic of Berkeley. :(

If you say so.  I'd be wary of the ole bait-and-switch once you're face down.  Anything to save a buck for the parlor...

 No ring but the massage with the Himalayan salt stones was soooooo relaxing, and there was only minimal grumbling about how we could be doing other couple-type things that were far more intimate and less expensive. 🙄

We are almost to Santa Monica! Stopped by my parents to pick up my mom who's going to help us do some unpacking, and she roped us into having lunch here. Downside: had to listen to my dad pontificate about Mike Lee and how if he didn't believe Trump had a good reason to strike Soleimani, Lee could join him (my dad) in the Democrat Party. How my dad is both a MAGA man and still a member of the Democratic Party evades me.

Hoping to get settled in the new place by sunset. It's a gorgeous day here, at least in the Valley. Hazy and bright and low 60s. I wasn't too excited to move away from Berkeley at first but I'll get used to it.

Also, meant to show the wrapping paper Alex used for all my Xmas presents this year, I thought you guys might appreciate it!

I honestly have no recollection of where I posted about my non-fiancé's back surgery, but popping in briefly for an update that it went very well. The only surprise was when the surgeon had him open, another bulging disc was found in addition to the herniated one that was expected. It added another hour to the procedure, but the outcome was successful. When I was allowed to see him, he was passed out but came around after a couple of minutes. The first thing he said after he told me "I love you" and "I'm high as f***" was "I thought when you said you'd get me anything I wanted to help me feel better in recovery, that meant you'd show up with my new 18-year-old Belorussian girlfriend who doesn't speak any English." That's when I knew everything was going to be just fine.

Well let us remember that expecting a total relationship package can be too much to ask for, life involves compromise and in the case it seems English language skills had to be sacrificed.

Correct. I told him he could have a 21-year-old Belorussian woman who spoke passable English as a compromise.

Good to hear there were options. None of us can walk in the shoes of others, everybody needs to make their own way.
