Hi guys

I need some advice.

We got our RFE for I-864 and I693.

Therefore me and my husband filled everything out and I went to the med exam. Because my Husband likes to do everything by himself, so if some mistakes happens that he won't be angry at me.

Well done dear Husband!! He took all the forms and papers to work so he can drop it of at the US post office after work.

When he put everything in a envelope, some how the I-693 (sealed in a envelope from doc) slipped away and he did not include it.

as soon he got home and took the laptop out of his bag the envelope slipped out. He got so p#@!%.

Well the next day he called USCIS they told him that we have to wait for their next RFE letter.

Because the RFE letter was mailed unfortunately without attachment.

is there any way to send in the envelope without RFE letter??

does this mean that I will be delay with my EAD??

As far as I know there is no way of sending them the medical without an RFE, and yes it probably will delay your EDA, now the question how long is what I woud like to know... Theoretically speaking it could take up to 90 days from the date they receive your RFE, instead of up to 90 days from your NOA for EAD. I just mailed in my RFE for I-485, and will keep everyone posted when I get my EAD.

*hug* Agh, what a frustrating situation!

I'm not really sure what you can do about it. Did your husband make a photocopy of the RFE? If he did, you could probably mail the medical package along with it. If you didn't get it then you will probably need to wait until you get a new RFE.

Unfortunately he did not.

But thats a great Idea and I will do this from now on. Also I will keep the immigration as my business from now on. looks like i do better in that!!!

I got a RFE for the medical as well and was worried about my AP and EAD taking longer.

NO, no, no, in my case it took 2 months and 1 week for the work stuff and 2 months for the AP.

As if it was completly separate from the RFE.

This was my case though.

Yes generally the AP is delayed. I've had to get an emergency AP and they're not easy to get. It does have to be an emergency for one to be issued. A pre-planned holiday does not count as an emergency as far as USCIS goes.

Good luck, you never know, you might be lucky!! Or perhaps I'm just really unlucky!!!

AOS TIMELINE

16th December 2005 - Sent I-130, AOS, EAD & AP USPS overnight to Chicago Lockbox

18th December 2005 - Received at Chicago 9.18pm.

23rd December 2005 - NOAs for I-130, AOS, EAD, AP!! Didn't expect them that quickly

13th January 2006 - RFE for Medical and additional I-864 info

17th January 2006 - INFOPASS Apt about RFE.

23rd January 2006 - Appointment notice for Biometrics on 10th Feb.

10th February 2006 - Biometrics Appointment

21st February 2006 - Medical. Cost $250 including all blood tests, Td Shot, TB test and Titers for MMR and Varicella.

27th February 2006 - Appointment with immigration lawyer re. RFE for I-864.

1st March 2006 - Final results Medical. Papers in hand to send.

10th March 2006 - RFE responses to Lees Summit

13th March 2006 - RFE responses signed for at Lees Summit

24th March 2006 - Emergency AP approved in Omaha

28th March 2006- Collected AP

31st March 2006 - EAD Approval online

7th April 2006 - EAD arrived in mailbox.

21st April 2006- Received Interview Date for 22nd June

9th May 2006- Received SSN

22nd June 2006- AOS INTERVIEW APPROVED

REMOVING CONDITIONS

June 20 2008 - Package mailed to CSC under new rules. Would have been an NSC transfer

The RFE may set you back slightly, but based upon speaking with people on this site, things will inevitably proceed. I wouldn't worry too much, yet you may send the photocopy, just in case. It never hurts to try. Great luck to you guys

9-20-05 -(Married)

12-9-05 -AOS Packet mailed (I-485, I-130, I-765, and I-131)

12-11-05 - AOS packet received

1-3-06 - Biometrics appt. for I-485 and I-765

1-3-06 - My wife's name mispelled on i-485 still (tried to change via phone and still pending... name is spelled correctly on the I-765)

3-23-06 AOS interview scheduled (hopefully we can get the spelling of her last name correct on the I-485 before the interview.... feb 7th is a scheduled appointment to correct the spelling of her name with a local INS officer... anyone have any suggestions here???)

3-23-06... Interview went smoothly, and off to our favorite Japanese restaurant to celebrate the "permanent residence" status which was rightfully granted

5-6-06 Beautiful Church wedding in the Philippines.

10-9-08 Temporary Status of Residents card removed... Janie is a Permanent Resident now

Present = Living out our life together (had a healthy newborn son), and thankful that the aforementioned adustments have been granted.
