Hi .we filled our I130 petition for my wife and children with the London embassy .we had our email/notice of receipt on the 23rd Of dec ,

they are saying approx 120 days to process ..we are totally fine with that time anything earlier is a bonus .

I fly back to the us next month to start my new job .

i just wondered what exactly we need to do to prepare for the the next steps what my wife and children will need before their medical and interview , I know we need police records ect .

my children are 15,13 and 5 ,is there any thing we need to know or do before the next stage ,any help on this would be appreciated .thanks in advance .

If the child will be turning 16 within the next few months, I’d suggest getting a police certificate for them after they turn 16. Your wife will need certificates too from her resident country and country of citizenship (if different) if she lived there for more than 6 months. She will also need police certificates from other countries where she’s lived for longer than 12 months. If anyone has done jail time or has court you’ll need the court and prison records.

you’ll need Original birth certificates for everyone, marriage certificates (and divorce certificates/death certificates if there has been other marriages) and residence registry records/address registration confirmation.

if anyone has done military duty you need to provide military records.

US style 2”x2” passport photos for each applicant (One for the CR-1, 4 for the medical)  [having more in your possession to use doesn’t hurt either]

A filled out I-864 that can cover everyone and the included tax transcript documents.

Photocopies of each applicants passport biographic data page.

Some requirements are different for others. Once your petition is approved, your beneficiary will get a letter from the consulate with further instructions.

Ah I see! It’s a requirement here in Germany, assumed the EU would be similar in some aspects. Unfortunately I can’t edit out the information anymore. Thanks for clearing it up!

No, the UK is very different in many aspects. That’s we voted to leave. No “Anmeldung” requirement, drive on the left, still use imperial measurements for distances and many weights and measures, different driving age, FPTP voting system, no Euro currency... we love being different.
