Hi all, just a quick question about a thought that crossed my mind in regards to processing. From your experience, is having a SSN when applying for ap and ead or even green card, speed up the process a bit? I am not sure what the SS status is for most people who apply for AOS so just wanted to ask for your opinions :)

Makes no difference.

Yes.

Was just thinking in a processing/administrative way to issue work permit etc.

Two different agencies.   One is not dependent on the other

YMMV

My wife had a social security number before we applied for AOS, EAD, and AP. Actually even before we applied for the K-1. She was here previously on a J1 visa. We waited with everyone else and we did not experience a quicker response. We just got approved for EAD and AP. We have up to a 2 year wait for the AOS

No, having a SSN will not speed up the process.  It will, however, make other things like opening a bank account, renting an apartment, filing taxes, etc.  much easier.
