Please enlighten me as to what in those series of bankruptcies teaches us about his business acumen. How could it possibly be worse( it could have been worse, but daddy saved him from personal bankruptcy)

Let's play the famous whatabout game:

What about Trump university, guilty plea for  defrauding hundreds?

What about Trump Shuttle 140 million failure out if Trump's pocket, negotiated down to 30 million. ?

What about Trump Steaks, Trump Vodka?

The point is not that the man is a failure, many enterprises fail and there would be no innovation without risk taking. But the myth of Trump as an invincible Titan of Industry is just that, a myth.

Well good then When he gets on Mt. Rushmore, Abraham Lincoln,  will not be the only President on the Mountain with bankruptcies

This is a revealing chart. Over a 27 year period Donald Trump showed a 300% increase in wealth, is that good?

Well let's assume a 10% CAGR in assets. Using the rule of 72:  10% return would double your assets in 7.3 years. So 1 billion = 2 billion, then 4 after 15 years and 8 billion after 22 years leaving one 5 years or so to get to around 10 -12 billion or 10 to 12 x return. Fairly optimistic but doable with good wealth management. You could do better if investing for long horizons and had risk tolerance

If one had invested in the broad index of stocks and reinvested the dividends it would have a 700% returns which is close to an 8.0 return but I have not done the arithmetic.

During this period DJT shows us a performance of 300% or 3 to 4 %0CAGR as measured by growth in net assets. in other words less than half of an average stock market return.

Of course we know that Fred Trump fed over 415 million to his son over the years, but we are unsure of the dates so let's set that aside.

You  might point out we don't know how much is hidden in of shore accounts, special tax "instruments" and we really don't know how to value the Trump brand has. Well with me cash is king and if this stuff was legit and truly returning ROI it would have shown up on the bottom line by now.

Would you invest your retirement in Trump Inc? Any fiduciary advisor would tell you to run in the other direction.

U.S. stocks are closing out a terrific year and President Trump loves it. He’s bragged about the stock market hitting record highs six times this week alone on Twitter.

On Friday, be boasted “Trump stock market rally is far outpacing past U.S. presidents,” and he vowed that the “BEST IS YET TO COME!” Trump is making the economy and stock market a key focus on his reelection campaign. He often likes to claim this is the “best” or an “unprecedented” scenario, even when that is not the case.

While the stock market has performed well under Trump, it is not an unprecedented performance. Trump’s stock market returns still lag behind Obama and Clinton at this point in their first terms.

And what was common to all 3 is all 3 are major bubbles.

The point is that he blows you out of the water financially and business acumen-wise, and your jealousy is funny.

I actually agree that Trump's net worth growth is far from impressive.

Exactly.

Clinton rode a tech bubble, not really his credit. Obama rode a recovery, you can give him some credit to supporting avoiding a recession with stimulus, but that is debatable.

The only claim Trump has is the tax cut, which is not driving the market, which appears to be moving into bubble territory.

The President does not dictate the stock market.

Most of the credit / blame is with the federal reserve and the cycles of investor psychology.

No credit to Obama. And We've been in bubble territory with Obama already...Trump didn't enter it, just kept it there, and is oddly proud of it. Perplexing.
