07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I need a new one within 7 days. Ive asked if they can move forward without the actual card.  I plan on ripping apart the house today.  Better get started.

I'm trying to remember if we even asked for a copy of the card. We give them like a year to produce other papers. Some guys we don't ask for ####...

But I hope you find it. See what I mean? Don't mess with stuff!

I would have taken it from its original spot in the lockbox for something I needed it for.  Theyre asking for it for a background check.  Now i think i had it in my wallet and it maybe came out when i took something else out. I didnt put it back in the lockbox for some reason. My husband has never touched it. I emailed and asked if my green card is enough since its a type A for the I-9.

Unlike you, i do most of the paperwork here. Hubs couldn't find paperwork if you asked.  Ive changed jobs more often obviously.

Old apartment to old office was a bit over two miles, but was flat (at least if I used the bike trail for the middle part) the whole way, so I biked 3 days a week in summer.

 

New place to new office is closer, but from home to office is uphill the whole way. Tried to bike once, haven't again since.

 

PRG used to walk to the grocery store every few days, and we'd drive there to get big/heavy stuff on weekends (was planning on continuing to do this and stuffing grocery bags under mini-Dave's stroller, but this is still contraindicated). Now I just do all the grocery shopping in one trip a week.

Not visiting PRG's family in Russia (or even my siblings in Colorado) in winter barring emergencies, so mini-Dave may not see snow for a long time unless he wants to head up to the mountains and try skiing ...
