Finally, after 4 months of waiting, I got my hair cut today. All of them, Tbone

 

Sign on the door out front advises to wait in your car until your stylist comes and gets you.  She had a bit of a weep; she and Himself used to yak back and forth and give each other a hard time, all in good fun. 

Did a bit of shopping, and the shelves there looked a bit better than here.  Picked up some lilac trees to plant this week, a few pots of color for the window boxes out front.

 

On the way back I ran into such a storm, about half an hour from home. All the other cars were driving along the highway about 25 mph with their hazard lights on, and in the end when it started to hail quite hard I pulled off the road to wait it out. I could hardly see the car parked right in front of me. I was a bit startled to look out the back window and find the huge grill from an eighteen wheeler right behind me.

 

Once I could see a bit better I started off again, and within 5 minutes the sun was shining. I don't think there has been a drop of rain here at all. Herself was beside herself to see me. I don't usually leave her all day. Not in the least interested in the new toy I brought back for her.  Her favorite is getting a bit raggedy, although it still has a squeaker it won't last a lot longer. I'll  have to try and find another like it. Dogs.

I do like these neighbors. But their older kid, 31 years old, no job, no school, plays with his remote controlled car all the time. Just came back from rehab because well, they shut the place down for covid19...

Just outside like walking the dog i dont wear a mask.  I wear one in every store. I've worn them for job interviews.  I get my hair cut next week and i need to wear one there

Same here. Wear the mask in stores especially if it’s busier than our local supermarket or I’m there for more than a few minutes. Always wear latex gloves though ... hair cut will have to wait .. especially when you live 15 minutes from where 2 great clip workers and 140 immediate contacts are .. plus grand baby #2 due in 4 weeks so we are keen to stay clear and safe. Thankfully rural sw Missouri makes that a bit easier .. having more trouble dealing with the ticks !

I can't believe it's been 2 months since I went to work. At first, I missed it dearly. But now I'm kinda getting used to it. It's like getting outta jail after a long sentence. I always knew that was going to be the feeling. (I'm in my early 50s, some of you dunno).

 

I miss the feeling of belonging. I miss my guys. 

I miss the laughs. 

I still wake up at 530-630 everyday. Now with nothing to do except a little gardening and help the kids schoolwork. 

The older one is a freight train in motion now. So I just help the little Turtle. Her sister is a tough act to follow.

 

Me, JR and the big guy built this company. I'm very sad to let go. But I'm the only one left and it's too much, I can't find good partners. I had plans of moving the whole outfit to NJ. That's not gonna happen. It's getting split up and sold to 2 different organizations. They hate the law guy. They like the other people. 

 

I'm finalizing the deals soon. Everybody gets paid. The big guy, JR, me. So they're fat and happy. My guys, they all still have a job with great benefits. At least I'm happy about that. 

But now, what's next...

You're a good boss, Steve.

At least you fought for the company. I don't think the other two gave it a thought after leaving. You still cared.

I hope your guys stay with the other people and not the law guy

BTW, the company is getting split up and sold to 2 because there are two branches or something?
