Mama-Mrs.-T-B. arrived at our casa today, first flight from Filadelfia (Spanish spelling) man.

 

Plane landed early, early senior she man.

We & Mini-B. set forth in a hurry, airport run we & wee man.

Mrs. T-B. called to tell us that Mama-Mrs.-T-B. had already cleared and "will wait for you," sounds innocent man.

 

Mama-Mrs.-T-B. had been instructed to wait in Baggage Claim, instruct senior she through she man.

Of course, no sign of Mama-Mrs.-T-B., no senior she man.

 

We phoned Mrs. T-B., who promised to wrangle Mama-Mrs.-T-B. into position, promise she re senior she man.

After nearly an hour, no results, zilch zero nada man.

Mrs. T-B. got peeved at us and told us that Mama-Mrs.-T-B. was certainly nearby, but "you know her," egad man.

 

Finally, Mama-Mrs.-T-B. comes sauntering over, no idea of hiding place man.

She was wearing an anti-Coronavirus mask, terrified senior she man.

She wouldn't allow us to hug her, Germs in Airports man.

 

At the casa, Mama-Mrs.-T-B. beelined for the shower to de-Coronavirus herself, self-warsh she man.

Mrs. T-B. told us and Mini-B. to do similarly, sounded mandatory man.

After that, semi-semblance of normalcy returned, good grief man.

 

Mrs. T-B. took Mama-Mrs.-T-B. & Mini-B. out for lunch, ingest she & senior she & wee man.

We headed for the POTS offices, stopping to get a nail removed from a tyre, both necessary man.

We returned to find Mama-Mrs.-T-B. happily lazing on the new furniture, tired senior she man.

She was reading one of the Spanish magazines that we had supermarket-lined for an hour to get, also man.

We are happy that she is happy, happy we about happy senior she man.

Now we are sneezing and might have the Coronavirus or the Porcina, swine flu man.

Or it could be all the oak pollen flying through the air, with the greatest of sneeze man.*

Here we are, in glamorous self isolation in downtown Nashville. We saw the doc on Wednesday, are trying  new pharmacology, and have to wait to see what the results are.

 

Due to the recent tornadoes in the area, accommodation was at a premium so we are holed up in the least favorite of the choices. Not much around here but shops, fancy ones, and not the sort of thing you need if you have to feed yourself for days on end. I made a dash out to the local Walmart about half an hour away for some stuff to keep the wolf from the door, bit tricky when you have no idea how long you are having to stay, and only have a microwave to heat things up.

 

My run to the shops was a bit fraught. In spite of having the car serviced 5 days before we left, the morning of the day we left the car wouldn't start. We had to get the neighbor with jumper cables to get it going. I figured I might have left something on which drained the battery over a few days. We got here fine, but yesterday morning it was dead again. Triple A to the rescue, and it turns out that while Toyota checked off all the boxes indicating everything under the bonnet was fine, the battery was not. I will be speaking sharply to Toyota when I get home.

 

We have TV, which we don't at home, and I realize now why I gave it up. Himself is lapping it up.

 

Herself is penned up at the Vet, and I know there were thunderstorms the last two days, which she hates. They are shut on Thursday, so she would have had a few long hours there by herself when it was at its worst.

 

I am remembering myself at 4 years old. Heat of summer, and while we could see the lake from our yard, we were not allowed to go there, The front gate was locked. Windover's grocery delivered to the post at the gate, and after an hour sat there in the sun, my grandmother would bring it in, and spray it with some yellow stuff. My parents were working in town and not allowed back either. Nobody in, nobody out.

Polio. In a hamlet of 54 people there were nine cases. Grandma was right back then.

 

On  peculiar note, the Doc here also teaches at Vanderbilt. His last class was via telelink. The medical  students in the group are not allowed to get together, as one of them has tested positive for the virus. So, no groups getting together. However, they are still allowed to see patients. 😷

My company is doing an network infrastructure stress test with a quarter of the workforce being at home. My manager decided to implement his own Titanic rules of "women and children first", and since I technically qualify in both categories I am one of the 'lucky' ones who gets to work from home until further notice. I abhor working from home. The day goes by so much slower.
