RANT:

On Sunday I decided to clean most of my house as I have been under the weather for a little bit and it was needing a clean. So while cleaning my bedroom I decided to also wash all of my bedding. Well once that was completed, 1:30am the night after my pea brain cat decides to vomit all over all of my freshly washed bedding. THEN yesterday when I go to rewash everything, my washing machine freaks out and leaks water everywhere all over the basement floor... I ended up having to do two loads of laundry, one with my bedding and one with all of the towels I had to use to clean and dry the basement floor. Coupled with other things going on in my personal life, it was NOT good Monday.

Still we rise, here and now

Oh that is my daughters luck with her cat too. He now has a favourite pillow he sleeps on. She leaves that all set up the way he likes it and it catches most of the puke.

Out of curiosity, how many of you all have traveled with your kids when they were infants to go see family? My husband mentioned a while ago that he wanted to go see his parents before the end of the year (like, October/November). When he first said it I told him I'd probably stay here to help cut down on costs and make my move toward a career change that I already pushed off a year due to pregnancy, but I wasn't going to tell him he can't go as it would be pretty hypocritical of me since we live 4 miles from my parents and see them all the time. And then he mentioned he'd want to take our daughter with him so she can meet her grandparents and he'd be okay with going just the two of them. Every cell in my brain is screaming no, but I know its more complicated than that. If the tables were turned and I wanted to travel alone with her no one would bat an eyelash since I'm the mom.

I'd love to go with them if I could, but it may not be possible. Just want to put some feelers out and see what the wise sages of VJ think.

A friend of mine and his dog were parked up in Juliette TN last night. He is a long-haul truck driver and had unloaded at the Kroger after dark. Out of hours, so parked up there. Woken in the middle of the night to his dog howling, tornado sirens going off, the cab rocking in the wind. He said in the morning there was plenty of tree limbs and other debris heaped around the truck, but they are fine.   Lucky man.

Time to clean out the Anderson now that storm season in here.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Haven't done so yet (still 8 more weeks before mini-Dave's due date), but we're kind of figuring on going to Russia to see the in-laws in 2021 when he'll be around a year old (this summer's too soon, and I'm not in favor of non-emergency visits to Russia in winter), and I can't imagine going separately for that.

Plans for any visits with my family are more up in the air, but since no one's closer than Colorado, if we do any of that it'll be by plane too (albeit a much shorter trip).

That was my original thought. Going to the UK for the first time as a family of three in December 2021 so we could be there for Christmas (UK winter being more mild than a Russian winter) and she'd be a year and a half and have somewhat better communication than the just crying as infants do. I really don't want to stop any potential trips to the UK, with or without me, just because I feel uneasy about the circumstances of the trip in question. I really do want all our kids to see themselves as British as much as they see themselves as American and part of that is exposing them as much as possible.

I have missed you guys sooooooo much. I am glad you are all still here and doing well (well....you know....for the most part.... I realize it’s a “rant page”....so I guess I should say “everyone contributing is still functioning and coherent and stuff”....yay!!!)

Well....I’m here....looking forward to being here with all of you guys (MY PEEPS!!!!!)

Okay....work became crazy, life became crazy, I started this crazy “budget” thing where I worked until I kill myself, lost my password to VJ, didn’t have free time (AT ALL)  My dogs are itchy. I think I have pneumonia. And Mr Wonderful has a cold (which is OBVIOUSLY much worse than what I have).

But....geez Louise.....I have missed you guys.
