When it was just the one older boy we just paid out of pocket as it was cheaper. The Hillbilly has some weird things going on with his eyes now. I need reading glasses thanks to labour with the Jedi. Messed up my eyes. So the family plan through his work isn't too bad. They just seem to think frames for kids should last 2 years and I just don't see how. Kids grow like weeds. So we had to pay oop for them with Success Vision as they were way cheaper then Lenscrafters. For the kids I don't like the idea of buying online and well I can get cheap reading glasses anywhere.

I am thankful that hubs has good coverage for cheap price. I get a set of glasses once a year. So I’ll get some regular glasses now in Dec and then some sunglasses in Jan. I only get new glasses every 2 years when my prescription changes make it worth putting glasses on my face when I can’t see

Which reminds me my eyes are worse. And I got an exam yesterday but had zero time to look at frames because work.

Himself always got his glasses through the VA, usually a couple of pairs a year, one for reading, the other for the computer. Since I got to be an old person, my script changes. For about 25 years the only thing they were correcting was an astigmatism, so I usually only got new ones when I broke them, or sat on them.

Not insured for that, so I pay up front but it still works out less for me to do it that way.

Miserable day out, cold and raining. They are talking snow not far from me, but we won't get any here. Just looks bleak and dreary.  I looked up a while ago to find an assortment of birds on the porch railing staring at me. Feeder was empty

Finished packing up the last of the stuff for the Hospice shop. Forty five boxes out the door since May. To that, I can add a further seven that are off to the FreeGeek as soon as I can get there. And to my dismay, I found another stack of VA paperwork to shred, I honestly thought I had already done all of it.

In our Thrilling Tuesday report, we forgot to mention that we dished the warsher, differences man.

 

First, the number of dishes (Many) was consistent with reasonable use, not previous kitchen-fouler's man.

Second, everything was a snap, because we warsh off plates/bowls before leaving them in the sink for stuff to congeal on, no scrubbing we man.

Many'rd, New Miu perches on the counter and watches the water run, curious miu man.

Got new specs myself yesterday. I remember being impressed by the return of the thick black plastic frames trend (think Clark Kent) of 4 or 5 years ago and sampled a few pairs back then but demurred thinking it was too radical a change for me. My tombstone epitaph should probably read: Dreamed of being a Non-conformist.

 

In my defense, after re-watching One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest on a streaming channel the other night, I recalled that I read the book at the ripe age of 13, two years before Jack Nicholson made the story famous. It would be cool to see the old library card from which I borrowed the book from a small town library in Wyoming. For those who never experienced it, some libraries kept an index card within a pocket taped on the inside cover of each book. The card contained the last or current borrower's name at the end of a list of previous borrowers' names. In this age of HIPAA, PII, PHI, etc., not sure if such a system would survive today.

MIL is buried and no one can tell me that things don't happen the way they are meant to, her sister that caused so much trouble couldn't get anyone to bring her so drove herself - she is the only person who's satnav failed to find the church until after the funeral had ended, she pulled in as we were pulling out...

Got porcupined by Fizzicle Therapist today, perhaps some relief man.

 

Took Mini-B. after skool to a Holiday Lights exhibition, minor road trip we & wee man.

Colder than the dickens, sometimes Texas weather zero man.

We dressed Mini-B. appropriately but not ourself, freeze we man.

 

Got there right at opening, good timing we man.

Mini-B. pleased with activity choice, Just Two Guys we & wee man.

Found staffer to take fotoes, shall try to attach one man.

 

On mostly deserted carnival midway, deflected most desperate-yet-pleasant vendors man.

Paid $Many ($2+2+1) to throw Many (2+1) darts at balloons, extravagant we man.

Won Mini-B. a huge plushie llama, more than half the size of wee man.

Paid $Many ($2+2+1) to throw balls in a bucket, won Mini-B. a plushie doughnut man.

Paid $Many ($2x2x2+2) for Mini-B. to unsuccessfully throw balls in a bucket, oh well man.

Paid $2 to enable Mini-B. to run through a haunted gym-like tower, pleased wee man.

Paid $Many ($2x2x2+2) to buy Mini-B. a light-up Star Wars sword, pleased wee man.

Paid $Many ($2x2x2+2) to buy Mini-B. a stuffed hamburger, ingest all even after din-din wee man.

 

Back on concourse, paid $Many ($2+2+1+tax) to buy Mini-B. a ball cap, pleased wee man.

After Many minutes (1 + half an hour), had made full circuit of place and left, satisfied man.

Got Mini-B. to casa in time for bath & bed, exhausted wee and good timing we man.

Reported state of affairs to a left-out-seeming Ex-Mrs.-T-B., we can tell such things man.
