Yikes. I think it's amazing the outcome wasn't worse. I did not know there were rules about who could tow! I suppose they are not all that interested, if they they are the only ones allowed to tow from that highway they will always be in business. Hope the other shop treats you better.

They call it an "authorized towing program", it's supposed to prevent towing companies from racing to accident scenes and disabled vehicles.

I call it...corruption...

I would agree.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Still around, just doing the same old. Still painting, will it ever end. Still unloading stuff, I am off to Joplin Wednesday with 8 cartons of books I've no use for. I do not read fiction, and in particular I do not read science fiction.  It's not that far from me, and I hope I've picked a reasonable weather day. Still trying to decide whether or not to leave Herself home alone which she hates, or take her to boarding which she hates equally.                                                                                                                                                          We had a heck of a storm here on Saturday night, brought some limbs down off the trees, and loosened a section of my new siding, dagnabit. I am having a crack tomorrow on putting it back in place. The siding company are happy to do it, but it is going to cost me many pounds ten for them to come up here from Conway. Apparently my lifetime guarantee does not cover Acts of you know who.

I have had a message sent to me on behalf of the MIL. Apparently she feels sorry for me, all alone in the country for the holidays *sob*, with the borders all closed to anywhere she thinks I'd rather be, so I ought to go to VA and spend it with them. You know, it is actually possible to eject coffee through your nose all over the monitor. And in the event that there was ever any doubt, that's a hard no from me.

They never stop trying do they!

My MIL woes continue, house sale closes in 2 weeks, the day before we came up to 'help' her move she tells us she doesn't have anywhere to go because all her scheming failed.

She then managed to get herself admitted to hospital where they discovered that the valves in her heart have failed and they also decided she has dementia (not convinced of that, I suspect her scheming got her a diagnosis she is now stuck with...)

So she's now in a temporary assisted living facility and we have to negotiate medicaid to make it permanent and we have removed over 2 tons of junk from her house and have a huge dumpster full of more

I'm happy to swap my life with anyone right now 🤣

Everything crossed for a smooth and stress free journey

I'll look into it, it's fairly new with only a couple of thousand miles on it. It's an expensive tire.

I'm replacing both front tires

We have variously referred to you as:

Many.  F ma'am

Pick your preference, and prefer your pick, si FP/F&J/F ma'am.

If I stick around you may call me either. Only back here because ROC filing is due next month. Checking processing times and whatnot and before I know it I'm getting in to all sorts of pickles about things I wish I was still blissfully unaware of. Ignorance is indeed bliss.

I don't let them get me down, I just honestly despair that I even have to think about dealing with that mentality. This is like my township and that's the reality of where I am at. 😔 Thanks for saying that though. I appreciate it.

I heard a rumor that Max Rose might run for Mayor of NYC. That might be fun. He swears a lot as I hear most Staten Islanders do.

By the way, is any other city divided into "boroughs"? Why does NYC get an entire word of the English language all to itself for describing a neighborhood or group of neighborhoods?
