Man I'm telling you, I can't go outside and work on my car for 5 minutes without some neighbor stopping to talk to me....

Then, I had to drop what I was doing, go to the pharmacy for the covid family. There was like a thousand people in Walgreens. After 30 minutes, they tell me that the med isn't covered by her plan, retail is 20 bucks. I'm like just fill the *@$&®¥ thing...

Get back to working on the car, here comes other neighbor with her dog, our dog sees his buddy from the window and goes nuts, the kids go nuts, stop what I'm doing again to bring the 3 outside so they can play with the big sap.

Turns out, all the neighbors know that the family down the block has covid, and we gotta get in line to make them soup!

That family, the mother is a principal, father is a director at the Red cross, the son, 18, is a perfect young man. This kid is going to be the president one day...

I've had a spendy week. $498 at the Vet this week, teeth cleaning, two extractions, pre-anesthesia EKG and labs due to her age, and eye drops for her right eye, which has been weepy. She also is also newly borderline kidney issues, so new food for that, She ate it, thankfully, she's picky as. I took advantage of her being out all day, went and had a hair cut, and hit hobby lobby.

I have been having what can be best described as intermittent power issues. One half of the house goes out, and while the aircon stays lit, it does not work. Annoys me no end to get up in the morning and find the refrigerator has been off for hours.  I called the same man who came out here last year when we were hit by lightning. He has been here four times over 6 weeks trying to track the problem down. He asked me to call the power company to check the voltage, and I did that, but it was fine the moment they were here.

Pity the power company man didn't open the meter box. My electrician did today, although he wasn't really meant to, in frustration I am sure after spending hours out here was convinced the problem was theirs. He was right.

Inside the meter box there were fried wires, and melted bits. Electrician leaves, power man returns, I call electrician and the two of them have a yak about it. Power guy cuts the power to the house (thanks mate for the warning...not) he leaves and the electrician returns. Everything out there is new now. 8 hours without power, and I am now good to go. For $900.00 I had jolly well better be.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Oh man I hate that. My inlaws had a limb fall and rio the box almost off the house. The city comes buy and cuts the power off. Well they call two electricians and the second guy gets it fixed asap $1800 later and then the city took almost a week to get it back on.

Daughter has been back and forth to the vets with her old man cat. He's 15. Today's bill 90$ the cat was constipated and needed another blood draw to check on his kidneys.

Crazy isn't it. The man who yanked the meter down said as soon as the electrician had been, to call the office and they would come back and hook me up again. They actually turned up  on their own, and hour early, and hung around. Two power trucks and three guys. Must be a slow day here today.

I understand that, this dog is 11, and I am trying to keep her ticking over as long as I can and she is able. She's really all I have.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

It sure is. They were told the guy would be out, he then made the excuse that the electrician didn't send in the papers that it was up to code.

Our babies no matter how much they drive us nuts. We have decided as long as he is not in pain and doing ok we will keep going. Just keeping our fingers crossed nothing new pops up.

I feel a bit sorry for the electrician, he is just mystified by what he calls the Hillbilly Wiring Code. He is from NH. His other gig is at the Russellville Nuclear Power Station. It was entertaining though, three AR accents and two NH ones...there was a lot of...eh???? going on, on both sides :D

I think the same way, as long as she is good I'll do everything I can to see she is happy. She's a good dog...mostly ;)

When this electrician started here last year, he was pretty stunned. He kept telling Himself, 'that isn't up to code!"  It was likely all original nearly 40 year old wiring too.To add to that, whoever wired up the outside light, and nailed it to a tree, just poked a hole in the box and strung a bit of wire. Dodgy as. I had him take that down, it never worked anyway, and you would have to be out of your mind to turn a light on outside here at night. Bugs must come for miles! When herself goes out before bed I use a torch. She doesn't need to see, I do! :D

I wish I has some pictures of the light I replaced. I had to fix all the wiring in it and replace the breaker because they somehow had wires crossed but made it work all the same colour. No white just black. How I have no idea but it explained the breaker issues.

Yikes. It is a wonder we haven't had the place burn down over our heads in the middle of the night. Someone here must have been concerned, there are three smoke detectors in my tiny kitchen. None anywhere else though, just the three spaced about a yard apart. What??

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.
