Day 2 of remote learning, 55 minutes after orientation starts, my older daughters  friend's mom calls me up in a tizzy, panicking, "I can't log on, can your daughter help my daughter?"

 

Gee maybe you had all day yesterday and early today to call me? instead of disrupting my daughter?

And, in the last few months of remote learning, I confirmed what I always knew, iPads are useless.

My friend in Staten Island has a 20 year lease on his panels. 

But his electricity is basically free, and he gets an incentive on property tax. 

And I'm not sure if he got a break on income tax....

 

New technology is unfolding where the solar panels resemble shingles on the roof.

And produces more electricity for the area covered.

We would get 40 panels and that would cover our electric 98.7 % but I'm guessing 100% once we get new windows and doors as it won't be going out all the cracks. 

We are still undecided. There is a 26% tax thing and if you don't use the whole 26% in once year you can roll over the remainder the following year. Not sure if you can go another year or not. 

It's a lot of money and more money than what I was expecting but we would virtually have no electric bill and the rates wouldn't be constantly going up. We would stay locked in with our monthly payment of just under 200 bucks. 

I'm worried with a big loan like that when the Hillbilly wants a new truck how bad would it be. We would have no problem paying the loan as it is less then what the electric bills are. We would just trade one payment for another. So does it look bad when needing a car loan or whatever? 

We are still waiting for the insurance guy to call us back because we need to make sure we have proper coverage and what that would cost us too. So no decisions made yet. 

Arkansas ranks the top place for actual days of sunshine so makes sense to have solar. Lots of perks but still a big decision. Plus that may mean I stay in this house longer than I want.
