I never calculate my mpg or mileage.  Granted my car does that for me but Im not concerned about it regardless. Doing so is excessive IMHO. I can read the guage and get gas when I need it or am about to go on a drive for fun (something I understand no one else in this thread does.)  I haven't run out of gas since I was 18. I do check my air pressure more than most people would but I have a sporty car with low profile tires.

Tbone dont you dare go help her with laundry. You can teach mini tb to do his own. By the time I was 10 I was able to do my own laundry. Granted it wasnt done well, but I wouldn't run out of my favourite clothes either.

In my experience people wont do for themselves if someone else will do for them. Hubs doesnt make his own food or clean or do laundry because I do it. When I stop doing it he does pick up his own slack. I have to learn to let go and not be ####### retentive over how soon things are done or how they are done. If there are no dishes, he will wash them.  If he has no clothes, he will clean them. Eventually he sees the mess and cleans it. I have to learn to leave it.

We are refinancing the house. The siding needs to be done terribly.  The last owners just slapped a coat of paint on it after 20 years of neglect and it was good enough for us at the time, and we didn't know it wasn't done well.  We've neglected it due to finances, but refiancing will allow us to pay off our cars and do some needed items to the house (siding, blown in insulation, painting, tree trimming and removal, etc...)  The refinancing won't go through without the siding being done though. :(  So I called a few places, got a firm top dollar from my husband and we have the house being primed and painted next week.  I'm worried about the amount of woodwork that may need to be done.  I don't even care if the new planks match the old ones, we can replace all the old ones next time we have to paint.  But I plan on going to pick some colours.  Grey for the walls, a white for the trim, and I think black for the door and shutters?  We will do the brick ourselves so I want a colour that I can also paint the brick unless we should do white or black?

Hillbilly is thinking about getting solar. We got the quote and now checking with our insurance to make sure they cover it. The company doesn't cover acts of God so we need to check the insurance will or if we need to add extra coverage. We have enough roof space to get us enough panels for 98.7 of our power.

I hear a lot of people lease solar instead of buying.

That is because if you lease it then the company actually has to do maintenance on it. But when you buy they don't

Yes but leasing does not raise the value of your home and makes it harder to sell later.

Twitter did.

Everyday, I'd call the idiot mayor here a ###### moron.

Lol, we have a local FB page where local politicians and people running for office post. What is awesome is that they actually respond to comments when asked something. It really is pretty cool if you ask me
