Older girl's cat that we brought with us from Canada has stage 4 kidney failure  she is heart broken.

 

We've been back and forth from the vets since Feb. first his blood pressure and his eyesight was starting to go. His eye are perfectly fine but now his kidneys are going.

 

He was check back in Feb for his kidneys and they even did the more expensive blood test and sent it away and that came back all clear. In just 6 months they crapped out. 

 

When we took him in a month ago they wanted us to do IV fluids under the skin twice a week. Special kidney food and antibiotics just in case it was an infection. Did blood work and values were high so kept on fluids and food. Brought him back for follow up and it has gotten worse. He perks up on days he was getting fluid and the next day but day 3 all he wants to do is sleep. Since his blood pressure also went up he now takes a 1/2 a  pill twice a day and fluids every other day. If he starts to sleep a lot again we do fluid everyday. 

 

This is going to kill the older girl he is her baby. The biggest baby ever.

So sorry.....it's horrible when a pet is older and ill.....as someone who has been through it several times....you have to remind yourself (or your daughter) that they had so many happy moments and years with you.....

So my grandmother is in the COVID unit and she has no signs or symptoms of COVID. She's very much alive and kicking (only She's on morphine now so she's more agreeable). 

Always knew she would outlive us

Thank you, he will be 15 and has had a very good life with her spoiling him.

Hard as it is, it's Time, sigh D ma'am.

The saddest thing about having pets is that their lifespans don't equal ours, reality man.

 

We take consolation from something a newspaper columnist wrote years ago, this man:

Despite Many (2x2x2) ESs and an MS (moving-sale) itineraried, the yield was modest, see the take man:

  -- toucans vegetables, toucans soup = $1, steal man

  -- mostly full box "medium waste bags" = $1 + half a buck, OK man

  -- skinny box resumé-quality printer paper = $1, deal man

Total = $Many-&-a-half ($[2+1] + half a buck)

Quickie update here-college hectic what with SQEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZING 16 weeks worth of semester into 8 weeks bkaz Covid, also now have nightshift job bkaz Covid(me covid healthscreener at nursing care facility) & just generally attempting to stay awake, alert, vertical & productive as much of the time as possible....

Still finding time for the odd trip down the river with pals
