Electrician spent the day tearing my electric apart. He and his son, and his Dad who is visiting from NH. Honestly it was a treat to listen to them talk amongst themselves, what an accent. They all went at one time or another to the same high school Himself went to. I have a new breaker box, new breakers, 5 new outlets, and everything works. He even managed to keep the aircon on while the entire house was shut down, bless him.

 

The talent of the hillbilly that installed a light on the pine tree out front and tapped into the box was cause for some hilarity. The darn thing never worked, so they took the entire mess down. Not to code naturally, they just punched a couple of holes in the box and strung a bit of wire. Sheesh.

 

Herself was initially quite upset. She heard men talking, and the door opening and closing when she woke from her morning nap. She shot off to the door wagging her hind end so hard it was amazing she made any sort of forward progress at all. I think she thought it might be her person, home at long last.

 

Still, she had plenty of attention, seemed to think she ought to supervise the entire operation, and seemed happier when they left.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Miu loves playing with fishing-poles, one with feather and one with danglies, man.

Poles are kept downstairs, closer to Poland man.

 

Last night, we were all in bedroom reading to Mini-B., nightly routine man.

Miu comes into room, dragging dangly-pole, eager miu man.

Miu dragged pole all the way upstairs, determined miu man.

Of course we obliged miu, oblige miu we man.

Lovely and cool here today. The sort of day I'd do outside stuff, if it wasn't pouring rain. 

I need to get new glasses, I think the ones I have are about four years old. Scouted around for somewhere near me, but there really isn't anyone. I rang the nearest place, to be told I can come at the earliest October 26th. It will be November before I actually get them. I suppose I will carry on squinting at stuff until then B-)

That's a really long wait!

Getting settled in, water being connected tomorrow, septic installed Monday and fingers crossed power soon, going to get drivers license and change the car registrations Thursday:)

 

MIL called to see how long we're staying - seemed a little put out when told forever 🤣

Everything crossed for a smooth and stress free journey
