Hi,

My wife and I did a court marriage on 19th December 2019.

We got the marriage certificate for that.

We will be doing a full wedding with all rituals later in a weeks time.

She went for the H4 interview on 26th Dec 2019. She gave all the docs barring I797 (she gave my VISA copy instead)

The VO was not convinced with the pictures she gave her which was from the court marriage we did.

They gave my wife her passport back with a yellow slip.

VO told her to come after the main wedding and submit pictures and I797.

Please advice if anyone here have faced or heard about similar cases.

Currently, on checking the status of application it shows Administrative Processing.

Thanks.

Well, the easiest solution is to follow the instructions given.

You do understand that from an IO's perspective, it really raises an eyebrow that you just got married a week before the interview. You have to be understandable.

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

Go back in a week seems the obvious solution.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

The confusion I have at the moment is that

- where do we need to to to submit the requested documents - VAC center or the US embassy where the interview took place.

- Do we need to submit my wife's passport with the documents as well, as the IO did not mention that specifically.
